"The room was exceptionally nice for the price. I love the layout of the room. The furnishings were great. Pleasantly surprised. This was a stop and sleep stay for us and not a long term stay but would recommend for either. We did not have any experiences with staff or amenities other than checking in. They did have a nice looking breakfast the next morning but we didn't partake due to time constraints."

"Beautiful hotel, love the art deco style. Front desk was so helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. We didn't realize you can have a tour of the haunted room 311. Except it was not just a tour, it was a full performance! The bar & billiards restaurant did not disappoint, great food and atmosphere. We love staying at the Read House. Consistently good all around."
