"We fish this area a couple times a year and this place is perfect for a couple of guys who fish 12 hours days for 3 days and need a clean place to sleep. Staff has alway been great, and rooms always clean, don’t leave any thing your car of value, because it won’t be there in the morning. "

"Cozy, serene. Just what we needed. Loved the screened in porch! Grounds landscaping needs lots of attention, it has been let go. Enjoyed Willow Creek. Would definitely stay here again."

"I enjoyed my stay at the Comfort Inn in Arcata. The room was well-designed and nicely lit. There was plenty of free parking and the hotel was close to the freeway and to lovely stretches of forested areas, but not so close that I was constantly aware of traffic. The bathroom was well appointed, and the towels didn't have that threadbare feel that some hotels have. I would definitely stay here again."
Holiday Inn Express Arcata / Eureka - Airport Area by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent choice for the area! Don't have to worry so much about one's car getting broken into as it is far from city centers. Clean and modern room, comfy mattress, and the drains actually drain. I stay here frequently for business."
"The Suite was perfect for a couple’s getaway. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the location is amazing for this area. There was a huge redwood stump next to the back porch on the Suite and it was perfect for setting the mood for exploring the state and national forest! Highly recommend The Emerald Forest - site was family friendly and super accommodating. The location is minutes away from the water and the bay is beautiful here. The Lighthouse Grill has AMAZING FOOD AND ICE CREAM. The Brownie Batter ice cream is worthy of a 2nd trip out there! 10/10"

"The staff was off sight. I have to say though that via Ring and SMS he was still very helpful, friendly and curious. Actually he was the best part of our stay.
Problem #1 The bathroom smelled of urine. AND in the bowl was URINE.
Problem #2 The floor in the bathroom is woeful. I put towels down so I didn't have to walk on it by the toilet. The flooring was shot. It was pulling away from the floor boards, walls and fixtures.
Problem#3 the sink had a leak, but not to worry, the garbage can was on the job!
Problem#4 The shower water knobs we're reversed, and the curtain was gross 😝.
The beds were ok.
When we figured out my dog fee wasn't charged when I payed for the room on line. The staff was willing to let it go in lieu of the room conditions.
Why didn't we switch rooms? We had just unloaded the car, it was a long 6 hrs on the road. I have degenerative Disc disease and advanced arthritis. (My back is breaking down. From my cervical (neck) and the lumbar & sacrum ( Low back &Tail Bone) My right hip is in the same condition. I would not ask Nick to move us back across the drive way to another room (which had been offered). He was exhausted too. It was better for us to find peace where we could, accept the no charge on the pet fee, get some rest and leave early. Which we did.
Sad to say, We will just not be able to return there."
Beautiful, Warm & Welcoming-Redwoods, River, Beaches-includes Hot tub
8/10 Good
"We stayed in the lower-level apartment for a long weekend visit to the Redwoods. We appreciated the spacious kitchen and comfy bedrooms. We struggled to get the heat to work consistently and relied on the user manual and some googling to try and figure it out. The kitchen was well stocked but lacked paper towels which would have been helpful for keeping the space tidy. We did buy some for our stay. Before you go grocery shopping double-check the shelf with the left over items from previous guests. I enjoyed the hot tub! "
