Thoughtfully extended, this traditional Norfolk carrstone cottage is in an idyllic location tucked away on a quiet back lane, approximately a 20 minutes walk from expansive and tranquil Holme beach. Entered via a gravel pathway up to a welcoming porch, guests are led into a bright well-equipped kitchen featuring modern appliances set atop delightful wooden worktops. With plenty of worktop space available, be sure to take the opportunity to cook up a delicious meal made using the delectable local produce that this area is famed for. With rustic stripped wooden floorboards, the adjacent dining area provides seating for up to eights guests around an ample farmhouse table. This is the perfect place to gather for breakfast to plan for the day ahead, or to share food, wine and conversation late into the evening.
There are two stylish comfortable sofas in the combined garden room, which gives access to the remarkable garden via french doors. Open up the doors on warm days to let the fresh sea air drift through. Also providing access to the gardens, conveniently located bedroom two is on the ground floor, making it ideal for less mobile guests or those who prefer a bit of privacy away from the rest of the party. Well lit with natural light, this bedroom has a king-size bed and is served by an adjacent bathroom. Plenty of comfortable seating is provided by the deep sofas in the sitting room. With a wood burning stove, this room is the ideal place to relax after a day spent in the big outdoors.
Upstairs, the impressive master suite has a king-size bed under a Velux window, and features a large luxurious freestanding bath elevated on a wooden platform to allow views to the garden. Floor to ceiling french doors give access to a balcony that shares the same stunning vista. In addition, an en suite shower room accompanies this bedroom.
Outside, the exquisite gardens are a considerable asset to this property. Extending to almost an acre and comprised of three lawned areas with a fabulous dining terrace, formal hedging, colourful borders, a summerhouse with a great supply of family games, a trampoline and swings plus a woodland area with a zip-wire, the gardens are perfect for alfresco suppers and for supervised children to explore and to let imaginations run wild. A secluded area in the woodland with a bench and fire pit makes a great space for guests to share stories over roasted marshmallows long into a summer evening. A gravel driveway provides parking for up to three cars.
