This was our fifth year at Heatherside with our young family and we love it.
This was our fifth year at Heatherside with our young family and we love it. The cottage is excellent - clean, comfortable and with lots of kitchen equipment to allow for easy preparation of meals. The washing machine and tumble drier in the garage are very useful. The property has plenty of room and the conservatory and private garden are lovely. There are plenty of lovely walks and runs to be had from the front door - into Keswick, around Derwentwater or up onto Cat Bells, Barrow etc. The only reason I scored 8/10 rather than higher on comfort and equipment is that the bed in the main bedroom really is getting a bit old now! The mattress is soft and uncomfortable and the bed itself seems very small - I'm not sure it is quite a double. The room is big enough to hold a proper sized double or even a king which I would love to see when we return next year!

We loved staying in this very comfy, spacious and well equipped home.
We loved staying in this very comfy, spacious and well equipped home. It felt like a home from home. The location is fantastic (an easy walk into Keswick...), the rooms are spacious, the kitchen is well equipped (there's possibly too much stuff...?) and the garden is beautiful and so well cared for. The garage is a real bonus - somewhere to hang out clothes, leave muddy boots and store bikes. Fantastic! Off road parking for two cars, aswell. Tiny things to improve: we were told to bring our own towels, but then they were provided. Also, as the dishwasher doesn't wash things brilliantly, some of the crockery/cutlery was a little bit grubby on our arrival, and there were some crumbs in the cupboard. Otherwise, really excellent.

Heatherside is comfortable and well-equipped.
Heatherside is comfortable and well-equipped. We had dreadful weather so did not have the opportunity to use the garden facilities. Thankfully the conservatory was a good substitute although the roof leaked very slightly under 'Hollywood' rainfall. The Farmer's Arms is less than 5 minutes away serving good pub food. Other facilities are in Keswick, a one-mile walk or 5-minute drive away. We would definitely use again if staying in the northern Lakes.

Comfortable, clean, relaxing, peaceful.
Comfortable, clean, relaxing, peaceful. Wi-fi was set with a child locked so couldn't research some local attractions online which was a little frustrating...The Lakes Distillery because of the link to alcohol.
Would love to return someday...thank you
