"It's a well maintained property and very pretty in a beautiful setting. So convenient to visit the castle as it's a short walk between the two. Plenty of restaurants within short walking distance. Easy to get public transportation to and from Cork. The room was fine in terms of amenities and layout. The room was hot with beds as hard as stones as all hotel rooms seem to be in Ireland. The breakfast that is included was really good. Best we'd come across throughout our travels in Ireland. Overall, relatively good value for the money."

"Property is very conveniently located, close to bus terminal, quick taxi to train station, lots of great restaurants in area. Breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety of fresh options including hot dishes, overnight oats and toppings, yogurt and fresh fruit. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. Also recommend nearby attractions like the Cork ghost tour and Sultan’s restaurant for great vegetarian food."

"Good hotel if you’re looking for somewhere near to Cork city centre for either Cork visits or a base for wider touring of the area. 5-10 minutes walk from the centre and there was parking on site. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast choice was good. We didn’t have other meals there so can’t comment beyond that. Our room was big, comfortable and clean although the bathroom could maybe do with a refit soon… slightly tired compared to the rest of the room. The hotel overall was clean and modern. It was quiet in our room despite the hotel having a lot of guests. Recommended for a short break in Cork."

Belvedere Lodge

"We stayed 3 nights at the Belvedere Lodge. We were a bit put off initially by the busy road right in front, but the Lodge is set back enough that it's not a real issue. Sandra greeted us at the door, and helped us up to the upper floor with our luggage, which wasn't light. The room was spacious, with a nice view of the back garden, which was full of blooming roses. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom very nice as well. The icing on the cake was breakfast. There was always a buffet with cold cuts, cheese, breads, cereal, juices, etc., and tea or coffee. In addition, you could order hot items from the kitchen. On the first morning, we opted for the full Irish breakfast, and it was delicious and highly recommended, at least once. On our 2nd morning, we went a little lighter, and it was still lovely. I think the only drawback is the distance from downtown Cork, but there are multiple buses that stop right in front of the Lodge, or if you have a car, there are parking garages in the city proper. Despite that, I highly recommend this place, and would definitely stay there again."
