We ran into some medical issues with my son this last trip and the Host could not have been more kind and helpful, they even offered to watch our pets while we went to the hospital. "This was a really wonderful surprise property for our beach weekend trip. The house was comfortable and clean, with everything you could need tucked away. It had card games and board games and the couches and chairs were comfortable. The beach was just a short walk away and the wagon and chairs provided helped make that super easy. 5 stars overall!"

This is a good place to pick if you are willing to bring almost every amenity/necessity with you (all sheets, towels-kitchen, hand, bath, beach, tp, paper towel, hand soap, shampoo, bath mat). It is amazingly close to the ocean and has a great view. Though we didn’t realize we’d have to climb over a dune to get to the beach. This could be problematic for older and very young guests. "We were delighted with our recent stay at Bay Side Cottage. We had our 2 teenage grandchildren with us as a spring break adventure. We enjoyed the morning sun on the front deck. We got some exercise on evening walks to the Avalon Beach Boat Ramp on Kitty Hawk Bay. Caught great sunsets there. It is an easy mile+ walkalong quiet streets. "My family really enjoyed our stay here. With two teenagers, it was plenty big for all of us to hang out in the living areas- but bedrooms were good size for alone time as well. Kitchen was recently renovated and absolutely gorgeous- perfect for cooking or just hanging out. The ice maker was a major plus on those hot days! I found the house to be true to the photos online- the only minor surprise was the small size of the second bathroom. The shower is tiny! But it still works and it was fine....

"Lovely house on the sound! Very quiet and yet close to everything. Really enjoyed the evening sunsets at the little park on Colington Island. This area felt far less touristy than other places we’ve stayed at. Excellent communication with the owners. You can definitely tell that they care about their property and their guests. Thank you!!"

"Very comfy, clean and well equipped. There was some confusion about a hot tub being on premises, as listed, but there is not a hot tub on premises. Owner quickly responded to our concerns about lack of hot tub, and even sent us a gift for the misunderstanding. This was very considerate! Downstairs tenant was very nice and offered to help us move in! Perfect location! My family was very comfortable here!"

"Overall we had a good experience. However, lack of kitchen essentials, grass not being cut, and some areas of house need more attention to detail (Bathroom had some minor mold in tub and on shower liner. The air vents need to be cleaned as it was dusty.) Other than these minor discrepancies, the house is close to beach, main road, grocery store etc. The neighborhood was quite. The size of house had more than enough room for us 2 people."

"Upon arriving, checking in was 5 minutes by an experienced, friendly gentleman.We open the door to our beach front roomand you immediately see the ocean. Room was immaculate, a microwave, refrigerator,cups, soap towels and an explanation paper on working the television.Also, a terrace with two chairs and a small table. The views were unbelievable, we even saw dolphins daily. The beds were great.Also, you have access to the beach from the second floor with a hose to wash the sand off. I forgot to mention the indoor heated pool and the fantastic breakfasts we enjoyed at the on-site resturant. We had a fabulous time and will definitely be back."
