Great hotel, friendly staff

Overall the hotel and location were excellent, all the staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. We loved our room with our balcony overlooking the lake and river, we sat watching the birds every morning and evening. There were a few minor things that could be simply changed that would improve the stay, coffee in the room would be great, even if it were just sachets. We had to ask for sugar and toilet rolls to be topped up. At breakfast many of the breakfast items weren’t topped up regularly enough so you found yourself asking for this. Finally there just wasn’t enough cupboard space for clothes when staying for more than a week and no space for the ladies to hang long dresses.

Great stay

We had a lovely stay. Great suite with a kitchen. The fridge was broken before we got there and we’re given a minibar fridge instead and upgraded to half board rather than just breakfast. Breakfast was lovely and the evening dinner buffet changed the main meals every evening. The hotel and surroundings are quiet with great views over the river. The infinity pool is lovely and was never very busy. Only downside is that there was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the bottled water wasn’t refreshed.

Overall good stay. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. The bathrooms gets smelly as theres no ventilation. It can be quite pricey. And there was a stressful issue at check out as they made a mistake with our booking. The spa was very affordable but the jacuzzi was not working.

Great hotel, we've had a very relaxing stay overall, we'll return with no doubt. Nice ambient and everything was very clean. However, it's worth to mention that SPA was a disappointment for us: Turkish sauna is out of service (for months? according to other reviews) and Finnish sauna was just warm, set to 85 degrees... Probably I won't choose the hotel if I'd be expecting this things... On the other hand, breakfast and dinner were all delicious! We also enjoyed service in the restaurant, many thanks to all staff, we felt very welcomed.

We stayed for 7 nights. It was the perfect location for us, as we used it as a base while visiting several Algarve locations. It was very quiet and private. The staff and facilities were excellent, especially the breakfast buffet, which is totally worth including when you book. We booked a Studio that had a kitchenette. We wouldn't get that room again, as we didn't really use the kitchenette and never was able to figure out the microwave/oven combo. We were provided a tea kettle upon request. Overall we loved staying at the Riverside Agua and would definite stay there again, only we'd probably stay in a different room.

The staff were friendly. The hotel was fine. I could stay there again. However, there is room for improvement. I reserved a room with a river view. My room had a farm view with cows and horses. I complained, the front desk told me my room was not supposed to have the river view. I have never been in a hotel where we are required to wear a swim-cap to get into a Jacuzzi. We do not swim in a jacuzzi, our head does not get into the water in the jacuzzi and yet, we are required to pay for a swim cap to get inside the jacuzzi. The breakfast buffet was good. However, there is something that I found funny. There is a person dressed up as a chef on an egg station. This person nicely dressed as a chef does not make omelets or scrambled eggs, or anything else. The person is there to make fried eggs. I find it funny that the hotel dress someone up as a chef to fry eggs and cannot make omelets for the clients. Anyway, some improvements are need for them to get a 5 star review.

Great quiet hotel. Half hour walk to the main strip. Close to train station 5 minutes walk. Great fish restaurants nearby. Gym needs heavier weights. Brilliant experience
