"Stayed in mid August. Great place and location… only hicups were parking and the uphill distance to the lift. Having to ride bikes up the hill was not great start mid August but the had buke storagd and I would not mind the walk in Winter. Parking was a bit complicated and a bit of a pain to grab things and pack up but location trumped that inconvenience. I just tried to find time in winter but it appears booked out. Location was as a good as I have had in Nozowa - right in the heart of the...

"Pensionatet är ganska enkelt, den närmaste omgivningen erbjuder i stort sett bara naturpromenader, det speciella här är ägarna! Mycket hjälpsamma, talar bra engelska och är intressanta att tala med!"

"Liked the traditional Japanese hotel style, as well as the onset which was very hot and was much needed after a day of skiing. Staff was very accommodating and helpful when needed"

"Located at the base of the ski area, this hotel has excellent and friendly service. Charlie, in particular, was a huge help in navigating getting to and from the hotel via train and taxi (we were after hours). We had the dragon suite, very suitable for families. The free shuttle to the train stations make getting around the region ( Snow Monkeys!) easy—but be mindful of the hours the busses and hotel vans run. I highly recommend the T Hotel at Ryuoo. "

"It was a very nice stay. The place was so peaceful and quiet. Very impressed with the cleanliness. The staff are very polite and helpful. Sadly I just stayed 1 nite and it was raining., but we get to enjoy the hotel’s amenities. "

"Manager and staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious. Traditional sleeping mat was very comfortable and I probably got my best night's sleep while on this trip. Walls are a little thin, but all guests were quiet and respectful of others. Baths looked great but unfortunately didn't get to use them. With size 15 feet I wouldn't expect any of the hotel slippers to fit. We had excellent meals within a 5 minute walk. Really enjoyed Yamanouchi!"

"Very well taken care of hotel, although an older property. Liked that we could use private bath on reserved time. Good breakfast and close to the train station"

"The manager (owner?) and his wife were incredibly welcoming and pleasant. They take great pride in their hotel and it shows in every aspect of our stay. "

"Wonderful hospitality, with a historic, step back in time feel. The most kind host who runs the ryokan as the 3rd descendant of the family - it was begun by his grandfather. The property is dated with rough edges but it is a great option at a good price.
The town is a sleepy but the few small restaurants we found were so good and cozy. The public hot baths by the train station were very nice and the neighboring town has a public onsen that can be accessed for a fee (it is one of the 9 the...
