Picturesque little place

Nice place to stay, loads of parking, breakfast fantastic and great service at breakfast time. Only downside was that the pool (a big attraction and the reason why I booked that location) was closed - and this wasn't made clear during booking on Expedia.

A great stopover

A very welcoming hotel. It started well, with easy free parking and quick check in. Our room was lovely, beautiful view of fields and a lovely large shower. Beds were really comfortable and the food that evening was lovely, as was breakfast. Very quiet at night too.

Travelling with family

Travelling with family and young children from USA, the welcome and service upon arrival and later in the restaurant was very good. The good sized room, good food and a comfortable nights sleep was rather undone by the unnecessarily slow and drawn out breakfast, which was disappointing.

A Little Gem Of A Find

Great find if staying close to Leicester for business or pleasure. Very homely rooms, and having stayed on 3 separate occasions, all individual. The food is the jewel in the hotels crown. Super menu, cooked fresh - presented beautifully and tastes amazing. A 10/10 find!!

Lovely place just needs a bit of a modernization

Stayed here a couple of times now both times in the same room so I can't comment on the others. We had a decent sized room with a comfy bed, telly and WiFi. Everything was spotless but getting a bit tired and worn out. The staff were lovely and the hotel is in a nice setting just needs a bit of a modernization

A little disappointed - not as quiet/peaceful

We had booked this small hotel mainly based on the description on their website for what we expected to be a peaceful, tranquil 2 nights in quiet surroundings. We would have given a 5 star review but sadly it didn’t quite live up to our expectations. The location is perfect, in the small village of Elmesthorpe however, we found the hotel itself to be fairly noisy and busy for much of the time during our stay as it is open to non-residents for private functions, restaurant dining and the outdoor pool, which our room overlooked. We had booked a junior suite so was a decent sized ‘large double’ with twin beds and a sofa. Unfortunately the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable and ‘lumpy’ so had poor nights sleep. The room itself was very clean, although the decor is a little tired and in need of an update to match the public areas of the hotel. What makes this hotel is definitely the staff and the quality of food served in the restaurant - both these are deserving of a 10/10 and a return visit. We found all the staff to be friendly, attentive and professional - a credit to the owners.

Comfortable overnight Visit!

Clean and comfortable stay. Room was spacious and had good amenities. Bathroom was good, nice hot shower with good pressure. We had a lovely dinner, polite and attentive service without being intrusive. Would recommend.
