A wonderful small hotel

What a lovely hotel! This kind of hotels is the reason we love to visit UK; they are unique, beautifully decorated and the service is wonderful! The room was tiny but beautiful and it had everything we needed. It was very quiet and warm. The breakfast was very good and the dinner at the pub was excellent. We would love to go back!

Was pleasantly surprised, more boutique hotel rather than a pub with rooms. Rooms were excellent with decent bathrooms. Staff were good and food drinks in the lovely “pub” were excellent. Would definitely stay again

Great hotel

Great hotel with fab staff. Rooms are really small but cosy and had everything you need. Restaurant was great with good quality food at a great price. Breakfast choices were great too. Highly recommend this place and ill definately return

Castle Hotel

Lovely location, good breakfast and superb staff. Pam and Becca were excellent. Room was warm and clean, good selection of tea & cofffee. Kettle, hairdryer iron & board. Easily to get to and withing easy reach of Leicester. Very busy pub and restaurant at night, but didnt hear a thing. Parking available but few spaces left Satuarday evening.

Property well maintained and clean ,however, my room 23 was subject to noise till midnight from what may have been a generator, plus bottles being put out in bins. The rip off price of £4.90 for a bottle of Harrogate still water for my room meant I gave no further business for food apart from 2 continental breakfasts The shower was very sliippery and the hotel is aware of this as it has a small notice in the bathroom advising to request a bathmat, This mat should be available in the bathroom without having to ask for one. I have contacted GK separately .

The Staff were very welcoming and invited us to make a reservation for dinner when we checked. Parking was easy at the hotel and amazingly as the pub was very busy there were no sounds heard from the bar or the parking lot in our room. The room was large and the bed was the most comfortable we have slept in for the past two weeks! we would definitely stay here if we were in the are again. The dinner was excellent too!

Okay, but some downsides

The hotel was clean, tidy and looked modern and fresh. The room was a little small and was boiling hot with no air-conditioning or way of cooling the room down as the window was so small. Gave up waiting for food in the restaurant as it was so busy so didn’t eat there. However, breakfast in the morning was absolutely superb and really well Cooked and fresh. As this hotel is a pub my room overlooked the beer garden which had people in it playing ball games and getting drunk right up till 11:30 at night, so it wasn’t a very peaceful nights sleep to start with. The parking was great and there is easy access to all the major road links into Leicester and beyond

The box

Room was quite small and no room for placement of suitcases. No air conditioning only a small desk fan so room became hot as it got the sun all day. Only a small top opening window to allow air in, but at night you had to close curtains due to large flood lights in carpark which also reflected off the bedroom mirror. So room became very stifled. Staff very friendly and food was nice

Lovely property. Helpful friendly staff. Good food. Easy parking. Lovely shower. Bed headboard a bit dusty but apart from that spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. Bed was comfortable. Room was a good size. Good range of hot drinks in room with decent sized cups and nice glasses. Lovely touch with personal welcome note and chocolates. The only thing for us was that the room was really too warm even with windows open and radiator switched off. TV - lots of channels that didn’t work. Would definitely stay again.

Superb - I look forward to returning!

A very warm welcome as soon as I entered the hotel awaited me. I was soon checked-in and away to my room that was a cosy single. The room and en-suite were both clean and the bed very comfortable. There was a super choice for breakfast both continental and full English etc. I chose the latter that set me up for the day and was delicious. I had dinner on 2 occasions and that was beautifully cooked and well presented. I shall definitely return next time I am in the area.
