"The Z Hotel in Glasgow was a pleasant surprise. Very convenient to Queen St Sta and George Square, the hotel is modern, spare, clean, and has a glass bathroom in the corner of your room! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Book direct and complimentary cheese and beverage are provided. Breakfast is not included, but two nice options are available. We had the simple buffet which had everything we wanted. It was lovely and a very good value for your travel dollars. My one suggestion is for the coffee to be upgraded. Would stay again. "I was woken up by the sound of loud banging at 0800 on a Saturday morning; when I asked the front desk what the noise was, they told me renovations were taking place on the 2nd floor, and that they were taking place all day, everyday (including weekends). This information was not provided to us before, during, or after we checked in, and now the hotel is telling hotels.com that we did not speak to them about it (so they can avoid paying out any form of compensation). If I could leave them zero stars, I would."

"A cosy, clean and secure property, in a leafy, close-to-town area. Very nice - and extremely quiet, which was great!! There are grocery stores close by and downtown is a short drive or bus/train trip. Our host, Akshay, was very responsive and helpful when we contacted him.My only criticism - and it is not serious - is that the description is slightly off. There is no outdoor space as the flat is on the third floor, with no balcony, so of course, there is no barbecue grill either. Although it isn't required, I think it would be a good idea to indicate that the property is on the third floor, too, only because that might be a problem for some potential guests.As I said, this is not serious criticism and we had a lovely stay!!"
