"Accomodation was larger than it looks in the photos, which was a nice surprise. The beds were comfortable, however I would take earplugs as I struggled to sleep due to the cars going past outside. I had to go and buy some from the town centre. At night the cars whizz past really fast.
The listing states that there is free parking but this isn’t true- you have to pay for it. I have asked Hotels.com to amend this as it’s false advertising. The reason we booked this hotel was for the free...
"We stayed in the room with two double beds. It’s at the top of the hotel so the view was good. Bathroom is surprisingly spacious and fancy! We didn’t eat here so can’t comment on that but plenty of pubs in walking distance."
"Exactly what I wanted, what I have expected hearing from my family who have stayed there previously so it was great to have a relaxing time with great service and food "

Hodgkinson's Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel is in a lovely building, retaining original features with the café area displaying some original items such as the cash register from 1882. The room key is also a traditional type which I liked.
The room had a lovely original fireplace and very comfy bed. The pillows were so comfy I checked the label so I could get some for home.
The breakfast was great, all good quality ingredients and well cooked. The scrambled egg was especially delicious!
The hotel has parking spaces available at the top of the hill next to the hotel. Note the hill is quite steep and may not be walkable for people who are less mobile, however there is also parking on the main street.
The hotel is in the middle of the main street and easily walkable to the main attractions, shops, bars and restaurants. "
"Lovely B&B. Clean, spacious and quiet. Breakfast was really good.
Close to Matlock by foot. However, it’s quite on a hill. So not so practical for people with mobility issues. "
Ranmoor- beautiful character cottage with walled garden and gorgeous views.<br>

"We had a fantastic stay at the property. It was walking distance to Matlock Bath (the road is quite steep) and we also walked to Matlock. There was loads to do in the area and something for everyone The garden was absolutely beautiful. There were two times during the 9 days when we couldn't park on the roads near the property but we found alternative parking in the town. The internet was fast and allowed my son to play on his Xbox in the evenings. I would recommend this stay to others."
