"We looked at other properties on this site before booking, and I'm so glad we chose this one! Communication with John was excellent from the start, responding to my queries very quickly. The garden area is just amazing and very private. Chosing a lodge with a sheltered hot tub was a wise move, as the rain came down in biblical proportions most days, but this didn't affect us, cosied up in the hot tub with a (plastic) glass of fizz watching the red squirrels playing in the trees beside us! - Oh my! - first sighting for us despite several visits to the highlands previously. The lodge stayed warm and cosy in the evenings with us just using the heated towel rails and the electric radiator. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals. It was wonderful waking up to the sounds of the river and the birdsong in the morning. A 4 minute walk through the woods from the lodge bought us to a quiet cove where our pooch enjoyed splashing away on the waters edge. Watching the mist move over the Loch in the early mornings was quite mesmerising and utterly beautiful. We visited the community hub a couple of times for a drink and a game of pool. Friendly locals made us feel welcome and gave tips on where to visit/walk/eat with the dog. Watch out for the midges- Bitey blighters! - we used citronella incense sticks around the hot tub and it did seem to keep them at bay. If you want a peaceful break away from hustle and bustle in beautiful surroundings, this is the place "
Charming rural cottage, with stove & large garden overlooking Loch Awe, Argyll.

"We had a great stay at Awesome Argyll. The house looks even better than the pictures and is very clean and nicely decorated with lots of thoughtful local touches. The house is definitely off the beaten path and very quiet and peaceful, with nice outdoor seating. The kitchen was very well-equipped, and we ate all our dinners at home. Graham’s Grocers is small but has a nice selection for picking up food, and there are several great grocery shopping options in Oban. We really enjoyed day trips to the Isle of Kerrera, Inveraray, and the surrounding area. Everything worked great in the house. Highly recommended!"

"We loved staying at Barr-beite for 8 days, the views are breathtaking at any time of the day and under any type of weather, and for nature lovers it’s the perfect spot to do birdwatching. The house is very comfortable and airy, with 3 large bedrooms and many cosy places to sit and relax, indoors and outdoor. We particularly enjoyed the good size kitchen with nice views on the Galloway cows nearby. The fireplace in the living room is a bonus to make evenings more cosy. The house can easily fit 6 people by its layout, and have 1 bathroom and 1 shower room, both with toilets.Catriona is a perfect hostess very easy to communicate with and who is ready to adapt to her guest requests. She had a list of things to do around prepared for us which was very useful as we didn’t know the area.The only watch out is the single track which leads to the cottage which is about 10 miles long, that one needs to get accustomed to, but the area is so quiet, you hardly meet any other cars on the way. You also need to plan your grocery shopping accordingly.Overall we had a wonderful time and are thinking about coming back next year, as the place has a lot to offer and is very well located to explore the Highlands beauty."

"Feochan Bheag was the perfect place for our family holiday. The location is simply wonderful, peaceful and surrounded by beautiful scenery, yet only a short drive from Oban and everything we needed. The cottage was spotlessly clean, exceptionally well equipped and felt like a real home from home. We especially loved the secure garden, which was ideal for our dogs, and the outdoor space was perfect for relaxing and making special family memories. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Feochan Bheag and would love to return in the future."

"Property was ideal for a week getaway. Lovely setting. Great walks available. Shop nearby has what you need but best to stock up in advance if you are at all fussy. Listing stated restaurant nearby under the explore the area section but opening times seem to be hit and miss. Not the owners fault but maybe need to not mention it in the details. A great time had by all. "
