It's a very family friendly area with numerous green spaces to walk and relax including Richmond Green and the Thames Path.
Beautiful Kew Gardens is nearby, as is Richmond Park, London's largest royal park, has 2,500 acres of grassland, ancient woodland and wide open space, home to lush greenery and herds of deer. Take a walk down the River Thames path (including boat trips) and Putney Common.
There are a great selection of independent cafes, shops and restaurants in Richmond and Barnes. Highlights include Petersham Nurseries and Black Salt, The Victoria and The Plough pubs.
