Started off poorly with inconsistent instructions from host and welcome email as to lock code and where box was located. After speaking with host for nearly 30 minutes, managed to locate lock box ( picture and directions not helpful). Couldn’t figure out the AC, so after 2 uncomfortable nights, messaged host and asked about AC. He said there was none. We contacted VRBO, who said the listing didn’t show AC. Fortunately we had a screen shot of the listing showing AC, and VRBO offered us alternatives ( not convenient to move given our schedule) or compensation, which we accepted. As to the apartment, it is not luxurious but tolerable. All the appliances worked, the plumbing was fine, the bedrooms were quiet at night and it’s right next to the DLR station. But there were minor issues -stains on the carpet, the washer and dryer were filled with sheets ( but no detergent we could find), some green gunk on the underside of a fridge shelf and a freezer drawer filled with leftover ice-cream ( but no ice cube trays). Host was not quick to respond to messages and his removal of the AC amenity on the listing after we complained about the lack of AC were problems.
