8.6/10 Excellent! (1,698 reviews)
Great location, but the bedroom was very tired and outdated and overdue a refurb. Sleep quality was poor - mattress far too squishy and too much noise. Never thought I'd say this, but earlier in the week I spent a few nights in a newish Travelodge (Rhyl) which was a far, far superior experience in respect of space, cleanliness, decor, comfort and sleep quality.

Lay out of room was excellent for a one night stay, with the bonus of having a settee to relax on. Staff were brilliant, contacted receptionist as hair dryer did not work, replacement was with us within 5 minutes. Car park, (albeit a little tight) is perfectly located. City centre is a 10 min walk away.

"The location was excellent, right in the heart of Shrewsbury with paid for parking if you needed. My husband loved the history and quirkiness of the hotel and this made his stay enjoyable. Staff were helpful and moved us to a different room on the immediate discovery of a blocked toilet. It was a ..."
