Los Angeles

A bustling Las Vegas street with illuminated signs, palm trees, and historic architecture.
A busy urban street with palm trees, neon signs, and a sunset sky.
A street lined with palm trees and buildings adorned with holiday lights.
A restaurant with metal chairs and tables, a H&M store in the background, and a street view through the window.
A group of people walking on a sidewalk with a row of stars on the ground.

Spot movie stars and experience the glamour of show business at the legendary home of the American motion picture industry.

Hollywood is the hub of America’s film industry where movies are made and stars are born. This exciting district of Los Angeles is home to studios, theatres and iconic landmarks. See the famous Hollywood sign and walk down the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Make your way to Hollywood Boulevard. In the forecourt of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, hundreds of celebrity footprints have been captured in cement. Stroll along the Hollywood Walk of Fame and peruse more than 2,500 stars honouring famous performers and fictional characters. Have your photo taken with your favourite stars.

A trip to Hollywood isn’t complete without passing by the Capitol Records building. Unfortunately, it is not open to the public but you can admire this 13-story tower, which resembles a stack of records. Gaze up at the famous Hollywood sign in the hills overhead. The letters of this impressive structure are 45-feet (13.7-metres) tall.

Visit motion picture studios, such as Paramount and Warner Bros., to see how movies are made and tour the sets of your favourite television shows. Kids will love the 3-D themed rides at Universal Studios. Take them to the Special Effects Stage where movie secrets are revealed.

Watch a performance at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, which opened in 1930. It has been renovated with early 20th-century décor to recreate its original state. Head to the famous Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. Have a cocktail and see a live band at the Roxy Theatre.

Dine at the Hard Rock Café surrounded by movie and music memorabilia. Adorning the walls are Jimmy Hendrix’s purple hat, Jim Morrison’s leather pants and a love letter from Janis Joplin. Try some traditional American food, such as Buffalo wings or burger and fries with a shake.

Hollywood is a 20-minute drive from Los Angeles. It is easily accessible by bus or taxi. While you are in the area, explore the upscale boutiques in Beverly Hills or relax on the beach at Santa Monica.
