I didn't realize how great of a hotel I booked! The location was by far the best thing about this hotel. Within 3 blocks you can get to the Santa Monica Pier, rent bikes, and find shops and restaurants. Within 1 block you have a Target and a Trader Joes. The breakfast was normal for this hotel chain. The gym was small and the pool was beautiful and empty. The room was very spacious and clean. We loved our huge balcony! We would for sure stay here again.

This is a great hotel in a great location. But like almost anywhere in Santa Monica and the surrounding area, parking is a major issue. Valet parking (your only option—there is no self-parking) is $60 a night. The few street parking spots are free from 9 PM to 8 AM (first come, first served), but they aren't connected to an online meter system (yet), so during the day you have to feed the meter every three hours.
