The shower had 3 knobs and nothing on them to indicate hot, cold, or what the 3rd knob was for, so I sprayed my hair when I had just had it styled. It would not have mattered, except that I was going to be presenting at a conference that morning. The heat was an a/c unit in the kitchen. We had to call the desk to figure out how to use it, and it worked the 1st night, but the 2nd and 3rd nights, when it was pretty cold, it would not hold. We had to keep flipping the breaker, which was open in the kitchen, back on and the heat would only last for about 2 mins before it shut off. The bed was not comfortable and hurt both of our backs. The motel does not accept cash. We came with the cash to pay for our entire stay the first night, but they refused our cash and insisted we put it on a credit card. We didn't like that. The shower curtain was not fastened down on the bottom, so it blew in on me the entire time I was showering - yuck! I had assumed there would be a blow drier in the room, however there was not. The room was clean. We did like the little kitchen, which gives one a place to work while the other is in bed, for example. We did not feel unsafe in the area. Maybe this is the one bad room in the motel, but the problems with the room really cast a pall over our visit for a conference in Los Angeles. When you've spent $1000 for a visit to LA, you don't want to look back on your experience and say, "It was fun, except for the motel".

Room is clean. Location is great and in a safe area. Breakfast has good selections. Staff is friendly. However, the room has just the bare minimum. There is no desk or table. No closet to hang our clothes or luggage rack. But they provided a portable clothing rack when I requested. The AC is super loud. There is no counter space in the bathroom to put our toiletries. Parking space is super small.

This is a quaint property but it's old. They've updated the rooms and they are very clean. Don't look for things like luggage racks, closets, or exhaust fans. They are basic motel rooms without any bells and whistles. The breakfast is a basic continental so don't look for a hot bar. It's a good value for the money but an exhaust fan would have reduced the humidity in the room considerably. It was also a little cold and the heat wasn't easily manageable.

Large room. Would have liked to have had a coffee pot and/or microwave. Thin walls, next door shower sounded like it was in our bathroom. But bed was comfortable, staff was attentive. Breakfast was more grab and go than sit down and eat type, but was provided in ample supply.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was excellent for what we wanted, we went to Universal Studios and The Getty. The bed was comfortable, the shower and towels were not great. The continental breakfast was included. For a short stay and the price it was a good stay for us.

Great hotel for affordable pricing. Location is great, staff were welcoming, and room was clean. The lamps in the room could provide better lighting and the bathroom was a tad small. However, if you’re looking for a decently priced hotel better than a Ramada or La Quinta, this is the place to stay!

Our family stayed at the Sojourn as we wanted to use it as a base for going to Universal Studios for a couple of days, as well as Santa Monica beach and a day in Hollywood The hotel is very close to the 405 and 110 highways so was a good location for our different destinations. Unfortunately, the room was small for the two queen beds and our backs were sore after each night. Also the AC was very loud and not that effective.The bathroom was adequate but had no where to put your toiletries. We did enjoy the breakfast each morning with a few different options including burritos, pre-packaged waffles, yogurt, toast, coffee and juice. You could also go back later in the day to pick up a bottle of water for free, which was convenient after a long day out. Having said all that, we would not stay at this hotel again as the room was too small and the surrounding area was sketchy at night.

Staff were amazing. Breakfast was easy. Parking was just right for property, the decor is great, but as you would expect with location and age it’s a bit noisy. Heater worked well, small AC unit. No in room coffee or travel tools, but if you need hair dryer or iron you can ask and get. TV was basic cable and set up, not able to connect device to stream. Gotta say it again all of the staff we interacted with were top notch.

The property was nice but the shower was extremely small. If you are on the heavier side I can imagine it being impossible to shower. The TV in the room didn’t work as well. Other than that the front desk staff was really pleasant.

It was very close to everything. I could have used a mirror close to an electric outlet to use my curling iron on my hair. The bathroom mirror was not close to an outlet.
