"Very nice hotel in downtown knoxville. Parking is pricey, but you can park in The Locust street Public parking deck, which is one street over, for a quarter the price. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Venue is well maintained and in a nice central location in downtown knoxville. My only problem was about 3:30 In the morning, the fan on the air conditioner started making a horrendous noise and it made it very hard to sleep even with earplug in. If I wasn't preparing to leave in the next couple hours, I probably would have asked to move rooms, but by the time I moved rooms, it'd be time for me to pack up, start heading out. I did inform staff checkout and they said they would have someone look into it."

"We enjoyed meeting up in Knoxville to celebrate our birthdays and this house was a great location close to great downtown restaurants. Beds were comfortable and the house was well appointed except we couldn’t find a corkscrew so we bought one and left it there. The host was responsive when we had issues getting in the door with the code. We didn’t need extra for one night but there was no extra tissue paper in the bathrooms. Overall a great place for a weekend stay!"

"Good stay for our first trip on a house boat!1) it’s about a 0.4 mi walk from the parking area to the boat. There is a wagon on the boat if you needed to use it to help lessen trips. 2) it’s dog friendly, which is awesome! It is about 0.2mi to the closest grassy area from the boat. 3) there are lots of blankets and heaters, as well as, a portable AC unit. We also used blankets to block off areas which helped keep the main area cool for our dog. 4) Ants - weren’t a huge deal, but we had to make sure the food was kept off the counters so mainly into the fridge. They didn’t get into the trash. 5) Kids loved the bunk beds and the main bed was quite comfortable for us."

"I have always wanted to stay on a houseboat and The Black Dog did not disappoint. First of all I'm a huge Swifty and recognized the name from a song right away. By the way although I'm sure it is not related, there's an Albatross right down the way. The host go to the extra effort to include a presentation that well prepares you for your stay. The community of other boats in the marina is fun. The houseboat was extremely charming and so precious. There is a porch in the front and the back of the boat. The marina is a little bit of a walk so pack a rolling suitcase for ease. The host have made a wonderfully homey environment. There are fans everywhere for extra comfort. There are cute little drink accessories for having cocktails on the porch and there was even ice in the fridge which is everything to me!! Yes the bathroom situation is similar to an airplane or RV. I don't know what kind of plumbing the mean reviewers thought was going to be on a boat! Where did they think the plumbing was going to go? I would probably not recommend and extended stay but its perfect for a couple of nights. The bed was wuzzy and its just so darn charming! I would definitely stay here again if I am ever in Knoxville."

"It was perfect for our needs. We walked to several nice restaurants, enjoyed the kayaks & paddleboards, bikes and golfcart. The houseboat was super cute and so much better than a traditional hotel. It had everything we could have needed (and more). We even played some board games in the evening. We also were so happy to be able to bring along our small dog, too.Thank you very much."
