Sports events are also held in the compound, which was chosen as a venue for fencing, taekwondo and wrestling matches during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. See the vast compound at night, when it lights up against the dark Chiba sky. Note that the second part of the complex’s name comes from the German for fair or market.

Makuhari Messe stands in the Makuhari district of northwestern Chiba. Get the Tokyo Line from the center of the prefecture to the Kaihim-MakuhariStation, which is on the eastern side of the complex. Make your way around the surroundings for its many attractions, which include Makuhari Beach and the Chiba Prefecture Makuhari Seaside Park. The Marines Museum and ZOZO Marine Stadium center on the popular local Marines baseball team.
