In my view, this is a premier property in Malaga. It is excellent in every way. The staff is professional and helpful in every aspect of the stay. The food and wine in the restaurant is excellent and well worth the money. There are traditional offerings for diners to enjoy. A reservation is needed to be able to dine though so be aware a few days may be needed to get the time slot that is desired. There is an intimate roof deck breakfast/bar area. It is wonderful to take breakfast up on the roof and talk about tour plans of the day. The rooms were palacial and well appointed. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

No windows in my room except for a skylight, the room got incredibly hot and ac was only working during the day and was shut off at night. Very uncomfortable and somewhat claustrophobic. Will not recommend. Found another 4 star hotel nearby for a better price, with windows and working ac for my second night. If you choose to stay at Palaceo, beware of the attic rooms or ‘the penthouse’ as they call them. The terrace bar is located there and there are constant noises of clattering dishes and heavy carts in the hallway.

This may be the best hotel I have stayed in. The staff and service was back to the days where rooms were cleaned, towels were changed daily, the bed was turned down when you return after an evening out. The reception staff were very friendly and very efficient. The location was perfect in that everything we wanted was a walk away.

It's a lovely hotel and the staff are attentive and courteous. The roof terrace bar was the reason I only gave 4 stars. They simply didn't know how to make a campari and orange. They used a whisky glace and filled it with ice without asking whether I wanted any. I asked them to remove the ice. I ended up with half a glass of orange juice with just a dribble of campari. They didn't even apologise and still charged the full price. Extraordinary. I ended up paying over €10 for half a small glass of orange juice.

I have not had any contact from the hotel in a week, despite their reassurance that they would contact me. I left an expensive dress and blouse in the wardrobe( by accident) and when I returned to collect my luggage from reception, I notified them of my error. They checked the empty room but within 4 hrs of me leaving them, they were gone… despite that the room was unoccupied( no new guests) and the house keeping had finished cleaning the room. Essentially my things have not been returned. The man on reception just smiled and shrugged- no eplanation. When I said that maybe they had been stolen, he just shrugged and smiled, again, then asked for my email!! Have they a thief who works at the hotel?

I love the room and mirrors in the property. The shower was great and the staff brought water and new towels everyday. The only thing I didn't like was that there is not many places to park in Malaga in general and not a place to park near the hotel. Even the taxis and ubers had difficulty bringing me back to the hotel. The navigation will lead you to a street that is closed on one side.

The hotel is nice but it is situated in a pedestrian area so difficult to manage luggage between hotel and vehicle.

Great location in heart of old town Malaga. Great location to walk around. Tons of restaurants in area. Difficult to park so take a taxi. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Arranged taxi for early morning flight. Recommend the breakfast, fabulous.

We spent a long weekend getaway here in March. The hotel boasts an ideal location, and despite our room across the street from the main building, we experienced no issues with noise. The attention to detail within the hotel is commendable, with no shortcuts taken in its design and amenities. While the room was compact, it was comfortable, and the bathroom was exceptionally well-appointed. The staff struck the perfect balance between being friendly, helpful, and respecting our privacy.

We are well-traveled folks. This hotel is exceptionally beautiful. Each room is an interior decoration gem. The restaurant’s chef also owns a Michelin star restaurant. This could be a much better hotel, but it suffers from staffing issues. Housekeeping never managed to get everything right, and one day didn’t even show up until after I called to complain after 4:30 pm. The breakfast food is good, but once again there are staff problems - many orders seem to get mislaid, we had to wait more than a half hour and reorder with the manager before we could get anything, and we saw other tables with the same problem. We would not stay here again.

Beautiful rooms and very central location. It is in the heart of the city centre so you are aware of that around you but didn't find the surrounding life to be intrusive. We had a problem with a noisy neighbouring room and the staff handled it with panache and were so helpful. The hotel is beautiful and all the staff from front desk to restaurant to service staff are all so friendly and helpful which makes such a difference in this standard of hotel. For myself, I found the beds much too hard for me (although I suffer from sciatica). However I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It's a very special place

The Palacio Solecio occupies a beautiful building that has been refurbished to the highest standards. It has the feel of quality and luxury. The bedroom was a little disappointing - small with the very comfortable king bed taking up the vast majority of the room. There was only one chair that was difficult to manoevour owing to the lack of space. This was disappoinitng. The television chanels were also very limited with only two Englich language programmes available - both news and cutrrent affairs. Not a huge issue but in a hotel of this quality, this failed to meet expectations.

Very bad experience! Be careful
Booked the room an hour before arriving while on the road. Got there and the hotel wasn’t up to the expectations. We were put in a building next to the original building which you had to go outside to go there. Inside of the Building is okay but outside is not good - picture attached. My wife didn’t feel safe and asked to leave to hotel. We asked the receptionist for a refund and they couldn’t anything but told us that their manager will get back to me. Manager emailed me the next day saying that they can’t refund because the booking style, I explained the situation and how we were put in a different building (my wife didn’t feel safe in that building) but they refused the refund even though we didn’t even stay and left for a different hotel. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We understand that you have booked a room category that did not fit your needs. Our reception team offered you alternatives but you took the decision to leave the hotel without wanting to see other room categories or locations that could be more to your liking, which is why we have to apply the cancellation policy. Likewise, the fact that the hotel is located in a historic district means that some areas are more well maintained than others, but what is indisputable is that the comfort and luxury within the hotel is guaranteed as weel as the satisfaction of our guests.Thank you for your comments. Palacio Solecio is comfortable , friendly and in the centre of Malaga. We stayed for one night only and enjoyed it immensely.

Prime location
I spent three nights here during solo travel through Spain. The location is ideal, walking distance to so many restaurants,!shopping, and key tourist spots. The hotel restaurant is really good, I had dinner there and the free breakfast everyday, which includes both the buffet and a la carte menu ordering. The room is small, fine for 1 person, the bathroom is a good size, and the a/c worked great. Everything was well maintained and very clean. Service was excellent. The noise from the restaurant & street can be heard in the room, I played sleep music and that did the trick. Overall, I’d recommend staying here & I would stay here again.
