"Excelente estancia."

"Upon arrival you’re driven on the golf cart to the top of a rainforest. If you watch carefully you can spot sloths, monkeys, and amazing birds. Our villa was the perfect arrangement for our family and gave us a great place to relax. The master balcony had morning closeup vies if a sweet Scarlet McCaw couple. You could spot monkeys and toucans from the roof terrace. Cabana and dining area on roof were added extra. Staff was super attentive and helpful. Restaurant and especially breakfast was absolutely AMAZING as were the frozen cocktails and lunch and dinner too. Please see my review for La Luna. Pool was fun with midday frozen cocktail treats (mocktails too!). Beds and sheets were perfect for helping us rest. Went in McCaw tour and hike for breathtaking view and hotel arranged for friendly and informative tour guide, Clarence, at the MApark where he helped us photograph wildlife and told us facts and tidbits about the animals. Very enjoyable! Hotel does keep tabs on your arrivals/departures but you soon realize it so they can clean your room and make sure you cone back and don’t go MIA on a hike or tour if you venture on your own. Great stay, relaxing and welcoming. Definitely go back someday!"

"It's was great to stay here. Very comfortable and unique with planes on the property that people could rent as room. Beautiful lighting and very friendly staff. There are a few restaurants I think owned by property that they will drive you right to. Very nice also has AC and TV where you can use your own Netflix "

"Makanda by the Sea exceeded our expectations in every way. Our suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and offered breathtaking views—pure luxury and comfort. We loved the boutique hotel atmosphere: intimate, stylish, and thoughtfully curated. The welcome treat was a lovely touch, setting the tone for a relaxing stay. The infinity pool and poolside bar were highlights—perfect spots to unwind while soaking in the stunning jungle-meets-ocean scenery. Although golf carts were available for transportation around the property, we didn’t use them, as we enjoyed exploring on foot. A truly magical part of the experience was the connection to wildlife—hearing and spotting monkeys right on the grounds added such a special, natural charm. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a romantic and luxurious retreat immersed in nature."

"Great value for family of four! We had two rooms for two adults and two teens. Location was great - two minute walk to Manuel Antonio park, convenience store, souvenir shops. Hotel restaurant - the breakfast that was included was fantastic. We ended up eating dinner there one night and it was good too. Staff - quick responses via WhatsApp. Very helpful. Beach - seven minute walk. Beautiful views ocean view from our rooms and from the restaurant. We saw two different types of monkeys from our room and from the restaurant. Rooms - not the nicest, could use some updates, but the they were clean, cool, and the beds were comfortable. "
