Spent lovely three nights in large twin room with balcony in sight of the Thames. The beds were very comfortable ,as also were the two elegant armchairs and table. Tea/ coffee making facility was very good and tea/ coffee and biscuits replenished each day.. The generous bathroom , with bath and separate shower, was spotlessly clean and hot water constant. Car parking close to entrance was very convenient. Would definitely look forward to returning in the near future. This did not affect us at all but the exterior paintwork was in need of some TLC.

I booked a deluxe room but we stayed in a standard room. We were only there for one night so I couldn’t be bothered to kick up a fuss. There was a big stain on the carpet and the air con wasn’t great. Otherwise a comfortable stay. The staff were attentive and pleasant. The setting is magnificent but the hotel itself feels a little tired in places. Free parking was a great perk.

We love this place but it is getting tired. The maintenance is in need of an uplift and the rooms and lounge areas need a refit. Still a lovely stay and Sindhu was excellent for lunch. The reception staff for the hotel were OK but lacked motivation to welcome their guests with any enthusiasm. Breakfast was excellent and the setting for the hotel sets this apart from most.

Offered upgrade to suite with either river or weir views and ended up near the bridge overlooking the entrance. That said the suite was lovely although 2 of the TV's werent working, a cupboard door was broken and there was insufficient toilet roll. tea/coffee selection was poor and what there was, was insufficient. If iy wasnt for the location which is amazing and the local town, the hotel would score badly.

Our one night stay at the Compleat Angler was lovely. While the building and room could do with a bit of an update, the overall experience was lovely. The staff were friendly; the room was spacious with a very comfy bed; and the amenities were excellent.
