What a lovely house nestled on a beautiful property, surrounded by gardens and the breathtaking countryside! The hosts were simply amazing! And the breakfasts never disappointed! We can’t wait to go back!

What a truly wonderful experience my wife and I had during our two night stay at Fauhope. Ian and Sheila go out of their way to welcome you into what is essentially their own home space. The country house feel, the wonderful decor and the set up and quality of the breakfast is almost like a set from Downtown Abbey. Wonderful, we will return later this year or early next for a longer stay. Thank you.

Simply classic

Fauhope is a beautifully appointed home and the owners are superb hosts. From the abundant fresh flowers to the art on display and the fine furnishings everything feels that bit special. Not just accommodation but a great experience too. The location is ideal for the wonderful villages and plentiful tourist attractions around Melrose.

The property was a true find. Wonderful rooms both bedrooms and lounge, dining room etc. Very friendly owners and staff. Would definitely recommend to people who wish to see the Borders of Scotland.

The house and property are gorgeous, and the owners/innkeepers are lovely. Everything was top notch. The only downside was that it is very hard to find. The directions on the website are not very clear and the sign at the street is very small and easily missed. The sign is a bit misleading too, it just says Fauhope House and then has “private” written under it. Makes it sound like there is another “public” entrance somewhere else. But no this long narrow and bumpy driveway is the way in, and takes you to a beautiful hideaway.

This was a fabulous experience in a magnificent house with fabulous gardens and grounds. The owners and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Fabulous breakfast and room with a view. Cannot say enough about how excellent this place is. Thank you Sheila, Ian and Linda. Not forgetting Ziggi. We shall come back❤️
