Hotel in great location. Staff friendly. Would benefit from an area to relax in and read a book apart from your room.

Beautiful location and great size rooms. Tv needs upgraded from a 14inch to at least 32in. Breakfast on day one was farcical. Breakfast was 7 to 10 but when we arrived at 9.30 we were told "well guys you have arrived late so you can only have whats left". Not a great welcome. There was no milk for ...

Staff are brilliant, building is understandably old but rooms are in need of some updating. Chair was ripped open and shower is very dated.

Abbotsford is amazing and we had the best time. The communication from Diane was great from start to finish. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed for 2 nights. 3 adults and 2 children. The Coach House was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. There was a lot to do in the area and some lovely walks.

We cannot fault it! It felt like home away from home. Great communication, the kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal. Unfortunately the hotel was due to close on the morning we left due to coronavirus restrictions. But you would not have known this from the way we were treated. Nothing was too much trouble, so friendly and welcoming. We will def go back one day.
Just go if your going too go but I would not return again I would prefer too be long shanks infantryman and an Irish conscript.

Lovely gift shop a few doors away. A lovely girl with a Canadian accent worked there and was very kind and helpful.
I was only there overnight and for a visit to Melrose Abbey in the morning. Melrose looks like a lovely place to visit. Interesting shops and restaurants. The museum was closed (Sunday).
Lovely place to visit and will certainly be staying at the George and Abbotsford Hotel again. Staff go the extra mile, fantastic service.
