Not luxurious but full value for money. Single room had a decent bit of space. It was clean and had all I needed for an overnight stay. Nice hot shower and grand view of the Eildons. Lovely hotel with very professional staff. Great breakfast and we upgraded our room to Deluxe Double which was lovely. Would definitely stay again next time we visit Melrose

We cannot fault it! It felt like home away from home. Great communication, the kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal. We stayed for 2 nights. 3 adults and 2 children. The Coach House was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. There was a lot to do in the area and some lovely walks.

Unfortunately the hotel was due to close on the morning we left due to coronavirus restrictions. But you would not have known this from the way we were treated. Nothing was too much trouble, so friendly and welcoming. We will def go back one day.
Just go if your going too go but I would not return again I would prefer too be long shanks infantryman and an Irish conscript.

Lovely gift shop a few doors away. A lovely girl with a Canadian accent worked there and was very kind and helpful.
I was only there overnight and for a visit to Melrose Abbey in the morning. Melrose looks like a lovely place to visit. Interesting shops and restaurants. The museum was closed (Sunday).
Lovely place to visit and will certainly be staying at the George and Abbotsford Hotel again. Staff go the extra mile, fantastic service.
