"Chestnut cottage feels like a home from home, it is a comfortable cottage, with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. "Had a wonderful one night stay for a special occasion. Our primary reason for visiting was the spa and it did not disappoint. We used it the afternoon of arrival and the following morning before breakfast. It was lovely in the cold and we hope to experience it in warmer weather too. We ate dinner in the hotel and it was very pleasant. Breakfast selection and quality was excellent. Only some minor feedback: I had a cocktail in the State Room and it was fantastic, and when ordering the same drink in Bar 1745, it was very average. We were also charged for the wrong whisky (at a higher price) but this was changed at checkout without hassle. I’d really like it if the pizzas in Charlie’s were available year round!"

"We cannot fault it! It felt like home away from home. Great communication, the kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal. The beds are comfortable and the heating system was great making our sleep great even though we had -1 degree at outside overnight. The cottage is a 3 minutes stroll from Melrose Square where you’ll find cafes, restaurants and shops and about 10 from Melrose Abbey. We’d definitely stay again and recommend to anyone staying in Melrose "
