I stayed for 2 nights in Vilafoia and wished I had stayed longer. It is a perfect place to get away from it all and to just chill out. The welcome I received was outstanding-it was clear Margarita took her job very seriously and genuinely cared that guests feel at home there. Was O Castello perfect? No....but awful darn good and every other guest I spoke to said the same. Perfectly located and easily accessed in a lovely village with great restaurants only a few minutes walk away. And what a view from clean and well-appointed rooms managed by attentive staff. Truly a bargain at any price and an ideal romantic escape.

This is a modern hotel with an interesting selection of artefacts and antiques scattered around the spacious cool marble spaces. Its very clean and well maintained. Breakfast from 8am to 11am is perfect timing for me as I like to take things slowly in the morning. Lots of choice at breakfast, all the standards - fruit, cereals , eggs cooked to order. Our stay at Herdade do Touril was the relaxing escape we needed. We booked the double room apartment that was located across the road from the main building, which was a surprise, but didn't bother us since that allowed us to enjoy a private garden and a BBQ. The apartment also had a fully equipped kitchen which the hotel staff replenished with breakfast itens everyday. We also received fresh bread and pastry every morning. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Really nice hotel, spotlessly clean, only thing that lets it down is the pool is shaded from around 3 in the afternoon. Food is really nice and staff are friendly.

It's a lovely modern hotel. Rooms are fabulous and the property has a rooftop infinity pool with plenty of loungers. The property has a really nice spa with an indoor pool that you pay to use. Food is good and reasonably priced. The property overlooks the river Arade with really nice views of Portimao Marina to the left and Tivoli Marina to the right and the fishing village of Ferragudo straight ahead. Staying here was so peaceful. Breakfast was very nice, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice. Tiny critism, the crepes would be better warm! The Villa was exceptional and so comfortable. Lovely pool area. Would definitely love to come back to stay again!

Went to Salema with partner and 3 kids, 15,9 and 8. Villas were of a particularly high standard. Spotless clean and with all the mod cons. Pool was lovely and never packed despite the size of the complex. Salema itself is very small with not much in it but it's a nice change from the surrounding large resorts. It has a fabulous fish restaurant on the beach and a pretty good pizzareia. Had a very relaxing holiday here. Would recommend it and I would go back. Super resort.
