Hike through the Serra de Monchique mountains to discover natural thermal springs and panoramic views of the Algarve coastline. Visit the 17th-century Nossa Senhora do Desterro church, then sample local medronho brandy at family-run distilleries in the surrounding hillsides.
I stayed for 2 nights in Vilafoia and wished I had stayed longer. It is a perfect place to get away from it all and to just chill out.
The welcome I received was outstanding-it was clear Margarita took her job very seriously and genuinely cared that guests feel at home there. She emailed directions in advance which were easy to follow and got me there with no trouble whatsoever.

The hotel is situated in the Monchique mountain region. We booked a panoramic suite which gave us views all the way to Portimao and the ocean- wonderful.
The hotel is very nice , clean and modern and very well equipped. The staff are doing a great job and are very friendly.
This is a perfect stay for families with small children as the hotel facilities are great for all members of the family. The SPA is really relaxing and wonderfully built and equipped with numerous showers and steam rooms....

This is a modern hotel with an interesting selection of artefacts and antiques scattered around the spacious cool marble spaces. Its very clean and well maintained. Breakfast from 8am to 11am is perfect timing for me as I like to take things slowly in the morning. Lots of choice at breakfast, all the standards - fruit, cereals , eggs cooked to order. Pool area was usually quite quiet when we stayed in mid-May.

It's a lovely modern hotel. Rooms are fabulous and the property has a rooftop infinity pool with plenty of loungers. The property has a really nice spa with an indoor pool that you pay to use.
Food is good and reasonably priced. The property overlooks the river Arade with really nice views of Portimao Marina to the left and Tivoli Marina to the right and the fishing village of Ferragudo straight ahead.
It's about a 15 to 20 minute walk up to Praia Da Rocha that offers a large number of...

Went to Salema with partner and 3 kids, 15,9 and 8. Villas were of a particularly high standard. Spotless clean and with all the mod cons. Pool was lovely and never packed despite the size of the complex. Salema itself is very small with not much in it but it's a nice change from the surrounding large resorts. It has a fabulous fish restaurant on the beach and a pretty good pizzareia. Had a very relaxing holiday here. Would recommend it and I would go back. Super resort.

Staying here was so peaceful.
Breakfast was very nice, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice.
Tiny critism, the crepes would be better warm!
The Villa was exceptional and so comfortable.
Lovely pool area.
Would definitely love to come back to stay again!
