The location is perfect - walkable to everything and just a couple of blocks from the beach. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had an ocean view room, which we loved listening to the waves at night with the window open. I only wish there was a coffee maker in the room rather than having to go out to the bakery downstairs to get coffee.

The Pine Inn is an older hotel. Great location to everything! The furnishings are dated but that is what makes the hotel so unique. Rooms/hotels are very clean with beautiful grounds that are so well kept. Amenities - it would have been nice if they had coffee for the guests. We had a very nice ocean view but note the street below can be very noisy at 6 am in the morning. There are no fans or air conditioning so we had the windows opened a lot. The restaurant at the hotel has a great happy hour and wonderful, friendly bartenders. We would stay again at the hotel for the location.

There was no air conditioning in the room at all. Only a ceiling fan and heater. We checked in and the room was extremely hot. After leaving all the windows open for several hours it cooled off very nicely but I feel like this should be clearly stated somewhere before you book. The room was nice and clean and the lobby and hallways had air conditioning so that was nice. It was in the heart of the city and prime location to walk all over.

6/10 Location amazing. However the rooms need updating, mold in the bathroom specifically the shower head (easy fix) and the ceiling. The finishing in the tub was also peeling which was gross. There are not many hotel in Carmel with AC so beware! This one did not have AC but we got the room with the ocean view and it was amazing! You can ditch your car and just roam the streets excellent location. Staff was very attentive and friendly. The ambiance of the hotel was also very nice and regal. The bathroom was just such a turn off.
