2 Bed in Belsay (oc-t29653)
Surrounded by beautiful open countryside and private woodland, with lovely walking and cycling routes from the doorstep, and guests with horses can enjoy guided off-road ride-outs. Stroll around the lake and see the resident swans. Belsay village (3.5 miles) has a general store and coffee shop and there are supermarkets, shops, pubs, and restaurants in Ponteland (9 miles). Nearby, visit the National Trust’s Wallington house, walled garden, woodland walks and children’s adventure play area (4 miles), Belsay Hall, Castle and gardens with another fantastic play area (4.5 miles), and Bolam Lake Country Park (5 miles). Head into the National Park (17 miles) for spectacular scenery, walking and cycling routes and explore Northumberland’s heritage coastline, castles and seaside villages. Head to Newcastle (17.5) for shopping, live music, arts and river walks. Located a 6-mile drive from Belsay in the beautiful Northumberland countryside, this welcoming, single-storey, traditional cottage offers a tranquil and relaxing family getaway on a friendly working arable farm.
Enter the property through the front door with space to store your outdoor coats and shoes in the entrance hall. A step down takes you into the spacious open-plan kitchen/diner with high ceilings and exposed beams. The farmhouse-style dining table is the room's focal point where you can all gather for sociable mealtimes. The well-equipped kitchen makes it easy for the family cook to prepare tasty food with a gas hob and electric oven, a fridge, a freezer, a microwave, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. There is also a sofa and TV at the far end of the room where some of your party can relax and chat while dinner is prepared. Heading into the lounge you will find a cosy wood burner set into the brick-built fireplace, two more comfortable sofas and a TV. The two bedrooms are off the hallway, each with a lovely garden view. The generous king-size bedroom has dual-aspect windows and a small TV, and the family bedroom can sleep up to four guests with a double bed and a set of standard-size bunk beds. The family bathroom completes the accommodation and comprises a shower over the bath and WC.
Outside, there is a large, lawn garden to the side and rear of the cottage with garden furniture so you can enjoy dining alfresco in the warmer months. A short walk takes you to the private lake within the owner’s grounds which you can stroll around at your leisure. There is no light pollution here so sit outside at night and experience truly dark skies and see millions of stars.
