From countryside to coast, a boat trip to the Farne Islands from Seahouses (24 miles) to spot the UK's largest grey seal colony cannot be missed, as well as a traditional bucket and spade day at the seaside at Amble Links Beach 10 miles away, a great spot for surfing and kayaking. Dive into hundreds of years of history at the nearby Warkworth Castle 8.5 miles away, which overlooks the River Coquet, or the iconic Alnwick Castle 10.5 miles away.
