"Stayed one night and unfortunately had a disappointing experience, especially considering the price point. I already had a headache before arriving, and the first room had an extremely strong bleach odor that immediately made it worse. Even a staff member acknowledged how strong the smell was. I requested a room change, which the front desk accommodated, but later that evening I discovered dried blood stains on the bedding in the second room. At that point, since I was checking out early the next morning, I chose not to switch rooms again. The staff was polite, and the location is great, but cleanliness and room quality are extremely important to me, especially at over $400/night. I expected a much better experience."

"The hotel was great. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend. Overall very clean and well maintained. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was absolutely the most comfortable mattress I have slept on in years, at any hotel. The only complaint was the couch in our suite. It is past due for reupholstering. Very worn and drab looking, to the point that we put a blanket over it to sit in. And if it matters to you, the televisions don’t have streaming capabilities."

The Beach Club at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina

"The location is absolutely fantastic for a visit to Charleston. You can easily visit downtown for sightseeing and shopping, but you can also get away and hang in a resort like setting. The property is showing significant signs of wear and could use a refresh. The mechanicals are also very loud and somewhat don’t do a great job maintaining the temperature. All said, I would still probably give it a 3-4 rating if it weren’t for the staff. With the exception of the shuttle driver and one concierge, all of the other staff members encountered were rude, dismissive, and not at all helpful. We don’t expect much when we travel, and are willing to overlook most issues if the service is good. Unfortunately, the staff at The Beach Club make it hard to overlook anything."
