"Great location as just a short walk on the flat to the beautiful Harlyn Bay Beach and coast path. House is clean, comfortable and as described in the details. Very responsive host who is helpful. We had a really good time and would definitely recommend The Beach Lodge."

"Wonderful and cosy place. So quiet and peaceful as well. The little galley kitchen really made me want to cook dinner there but we were only on a long weekend and there are too many great places to eat and drink all within easy distance - plus fish n chips on the beach as the sun sets. Really easy to find the place and once you’re there it’s such a simple walk back along the drive and you’re at the beach. Lovely coastal walks in both directions from the property as well.If you like to mix it up then there’s not just Porthcothan beach on your doorstep but you have really easy drives to Harland Bay, Mother Ivy’s, Constantine Bay, Booby’s Bay, Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay. The coastal walk up around the headland above Tregirls is particularly beautiful. We ate at Rafferty’s in St Merryn (superb), The Cornish Arms also in St Merryn (very nice) and then got our fish n chips from Padstow as we know they’re very tasty from there and stay hot enough on the short drive back to Porthcothan to enjoy them al fresco.Jane was lovely- easy comms and we had no problems during our stay at all. Suffice to say we will be looking to rebook later in the year."

"We had the best time the bungalow is very spacious and tidy has everything you need your close to shops and takeaways and the beaches are mins away in a car and there beautiful the pool is amazing so lovely and warm I have zero faults with our stay the hosts were both extremely friendly and polite and super helpful with anything we needed we will 💯 be staying there again"

Hill Rise - Cottage In beautiful Trevone Bay, Near Padstow, North Cornwall

"We just got home on Friday from a wonderful week at Hillrise and what a week it was. First of all the house was spotless when we entered and and some home grown strawberries, cream and home made fudge was left for us, which was a lovely gesture. There is plenty of parking but be careful when reversing in as it's a bit tight, especially when some inconsiderate person kept parking their car opposite the driveway when there was loads of space for them to park a few yards back. The location of the house is spot on, if you go back to the Trevone road and turn left it's about a 10min walk to a beautiful beach with a great beat bar and cafe. Padstow is a 5min drive away at the most. The front room is big and airy with enough seating for 6. The main bedroom is up the stairs and has a great view of the sea. It has a lovely en suite bathroom. There are 2 more twin rooms downstairs but the third room i would say it's best used for kids as my grown up daughter said her feet were sticking over the end of the bed.The garden is lovely and wraps around the house but could do with a good weeding around the back and the front bushes could do with cutting back as we drove past the house a couple times before we spotted the house name. Pete is a great host and was always available if we needed any advice and we will definitely stay here again. I am usually ready to go home at the end of a holiday but this time I was gutted to be leaving. Can't wait to stay at Hillrise again."

"The staff were all incredibly cheery and helpful. The food was excellent (coleslaw to die for!). The local beer, Hicks, was a good temperature. Fantastically cheap breakfast of anything! Dogs welcome in any room. England World Cup game was televised but the supporters were put in a large TV room away from the residents."
