  • Welcome to The Flowers House, a remarkable slice of history located in the vibrant community of Mount Dora! Originally constructed in 1910, this house has seen only a few owners over its century-long existence, imparting a rich heritage to your stay. It was lovingly maintained by the William Capps family for sixty years. Pam and Andrew Flowers, restored its charm while preserving its unique character.

    The Flowers House is equipped with modern amenities while maintaining its historical charm. You’ll find five spacious bedrooms, four of which have their own bathrooms, making it perfect for family gatherings or group getaways. The shared front and back porches, combined with a cozy backyard featuring a fire pit, provide ample space for relaxation. Inside, enjoy a fully-equipped kitchen, a dining area, a breakfast nook, a laundry room, and a generous living room.

    Just a short stroll to downtown Mount Dora, you'll discover a cornucopia of activities, dining options, and shopping. The area boasts an impressive array of restaurants offering diverse cuisines ranging from Asian to Italian and everything in between. We found this Flower House to be just perfect! It was everything it said it would be plus lots of little extras! The location was perfect to walk downtown. The owner was so nice! You won’t be disappointed!!!!

Everything about this house is well thought out and welcoming! We’ve rented many VRBO homes over the years and this house is one of our favorites. It’s very walkable to shopping and restaurants too. We will be back!

Family reunion

My husband and I stayed here with my two sisters, two brothers and their spouses for a family reunion, and it was the perfect spot. Great location within walking distance of downtown, too.

Beautiful house and great location

House is amazing and very beautiful. It couldnt be in a better location to downtown Mount Dora. Only suggestions I would make is to upgrade coffee maker in kitchen, provide more blankets or comforters and replace queen mattress in one bedroom.

Ladies weekend

Great house and location for ‘Light Up Mt. Dora’ festivities. Just a couple of blocks from the main town area, so no driving necessary once parked at the house. Wonderful screened in front porch and a lovely fire pit area in the backyard. We will return to the beautiful Flowers House.

Wonderful weekend in Mount Dora

Such a lovely and well stocked home. Our host Sebastian was very gracious and accomodating. Location was fabulous. Quick 1 block to all the action in the historic district. We walked everywhere with ease. Everyone in our party was very pleased with the accommodations. We will be back. Highly recommend The Flowers house for your next trip to Mount Dora.

Wonderful!

This was our second opportunity to enjoy The Flowers House and we thoroughly enjoyed both stays! Perfect location for restaurants and shops. There were three women and three girls with plenty of space for all including the hair and makeup drama that goes with a crowd like that! Exceptionally clean, we felt safe, and owners responded immediately to any questions we had. We are looking forward to our next stay! Thank you Pam for sharing your lovely hpme!

Girls weekend

6 ladies for a 60th birthday weekend. We felt at home when we walked in the door. A short block walk into downtown Mount Dora was what got us there and it was even better than we expected. With all of the restaurants in town, we chose to stay in and enjoy the home and it’s many gathering places. Well equip for all our cooking and celebrating. We will be back!!!

The Flowers House Review

We stayed at this beautiful historic remodeled home as a friend reunion. Six of us upon arrival coming from different parts of the state walked into the house at various times. Each one us were overwhelmed with the magnificence, cleanliness, decor, amenities, and detail. The beds and bedding were so comfortable. Coffee pot in every bedroom. We meet every year at a different location and this home and all provided was the best we have ever had. We highly recommend this VRBO home. The town is within walking distance and it is a quaint town full of boutiques, unique shops, and good restaurants.

Best VRBO rental Ever!

My friend group of 6 ladies has been traveling together several times a year for the past 8 years and this was our favorite rental yet! The house is so charming, well thought out & supplied for all our needs. We love the fire pit for evening chats & giggles, huge screened in porch for card games & more giggles, and the fact that the house is walkable to most everywhere we wanted to go… just a block or 2 off the main downtown shopping area & restaurants. The property contact, Sebastian, was responsive & very helpful…. Making sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back to Mt Dora & to this house for future stays!

T he Flowers home offered every amenity we desired for celebrating my husband's 80th birthday. Our hosts went above and beyond to ensure our comfort at every level. I would highly recommend this property to any and all. Each room came with a refrigerator filled with cold waters, coffee & tea service in each room, in addition to a fully stocked kitchen. These people know how to go the extra mile. We will be returning within the year!

Celebrating 325 years of life. ( 5 birthdays)

Amazing VRBO! This was our second stay at the Flowers House and certainly not our last. The common areas are pleasingly and comfortably furnished (and equipped) with everything that we needed to relax and celebrate. Tastefully decorated large bedrooms and bathrooms with all the necessities. The only problem was deciding where to gather.... The front porch, the seats around the fire pit, the large dining room table, or the comfy sofas!!! During our 3 days we had ONE lunch in town because we enjoyed preparing and enjoying all of our meals in the comfort of this home. Enjoyed Mt Dora shops, walking, and kayaking!

This house was the central location for our daughter & her new husband's wedding prep. It was perfect for us (the bride to be & bride's family to spend these last few days before our family expanded together as we prepared for her wedding). The downstairs bedroom was perfect for my aging parents. The bride had a room upstairs with sweeping, vaulted ceiling, full-length freestanding mirror, & romantic freestanding tub. It was absolutely fitting. We all loved our rooms. If you think the pictures make the house appear spacious & large...wait until you see it! Every room is larger than anticipated & has something (or some things) special about it. Large full bathrooms off bedrooms, sitting rooms off bedrooms, some with high ceilings, others with banks of windows, coffee makers, small refrigerators, little settees. The laundry room was huge & good for storage. The covered porch at front is deep, wide, and wraps. The covered porch & gazebo with firepit at the back provided more relaxed visiting space. Both porches & gazebo allow you to enjoy the outside shaded from the Florida sun while also accommodating those brief Florida downpours. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and spend quality time in different combinations. The kitchen, dinette, formal dining table, and living room are an open plan, so when we hosted the rehearsal dinner the day before & the drop by farewell brunch, it again functioned perfectly! Walkable & already in town! We'd gladly stay again!

Everything about this property checked all the boxes. Very clean, spacious, five bedrooms and most with their own bathrooms. Hosts very prompt in answering questions. As we look forward to our next stay here, I hesitantly say....What a gem! The property is perfectly located to the downtown area, everything is in walking distance and the property as exactly as described and even more charming in person. We especially loved the porch and perfect spot to relax and unwind and watch the world go by! The home was spotless, the beds were comfortable and the communication with the host was excellent throughout our stay. You can tell the hosts put a lot of thought into making their guests feel welcome. A five star experience!
