"The place itself is really cute and quaint, and we loved the country-house feel. Having grown up on a farm, we really appreciated the charm and rustic appeal of the little cabin. The price point is also quite fair for what you get. It is in a good location with a quick drive to lake koocanusa, hiking trails and Cranbrook. That said, there are definitely a few things that could be improved. There was no lock on the door. There were no curtains on the living room window, holes in some of the bed sheets, and no duvet cover for the pull-out couch. The pull-out couch also wasn’t very comfortable. There’s no A/C either, and the little cabin gets quite hot during the summer.Overall, we enjoyed the character and country charm of the place. With a few simple improvements to the bedding, window coverings, and temperature control, it could be a much more comfortable stay. For the price, it’s fair, but there’s definitely room for improvement."

"If the hosts aren’t super hosts they should be…or a new category of “super duper outstanding hosts that all others should aspire to”…a bit long tho lol. The place was fantastic!! We were a group of adult women and it was perfect for a laid back, relaxing and fun trip. Thank you Joanne and John for an amazing weekend! No complaints whatsoever!! Would definitely stay again and plan to again next summer!!"

"The cabin was beautiful! The AC was so nice - the cabin is full of light and very open for large family gatherings. Large bedrooms each with lots of storage areas including a mudroom for all of your swimming/boating/camping gear. A huge carpeted basement area for teenagers to hang out, with a big table and chairs for games and visiting, and a large TV and a pull out bed (couch). The cabin had a large dining room table which could seat at least 10, a nice sized kitchen and fridge (with ice-maker). Very private back deck with a hot tub, on a private lot - very quiet outdoors most evenings! The cabin is not very accessible for folks with mobility needs as two of the bedrooms require climbing 16 stairs, however the main floor bedroom has a shower with low sides for easy access. Huge perk: a bathroom for each bedroom, making mornings very easy. One caution: The driveway is at quite a steep angle and took us a few tries with our front wheel drive cars to get up (take a running start and hug the sides where there are fewer small slippery rocks)! The closest (and best) swimming we could find for kids was 25 minutes away at Surveyors Lake - worth the drive. The docks that are listed in the ad (5 minutes away) are not accessible for folks with mobility needs, or if you are carrying a lot (picnic bags, totes, lawn chairs, little kids) as it is a steep hike and you can't get very close by car. Overall we LOVED our stay... beautiful place to have a restful visit. Thank you!!!"
