Lovely but out of the way.
Booked this hotel at very last minute as our booked hotel in Naples was awful. We arrived about 2230 and were met by a very friendly member of staff who efficiently booked us in, organised drinks and showed us to the lovely poolside terrace. He immediately salved our frazzled nerves! After a good night’s sleep we had a Lovely relaxed day spent by the pool and garden. We were told that the pool was closed when we enquired about towels however when we went for pre-dinner drinks people were using it. Our only disappointment. Meal in restaurant was very good. It was however out of the way. We had 2 expensive taxis, one from Naples and other to airport.

This is a perfect place for a family vacation. Far from Naples downtown, you need a car to go around. Taxi will be very expensive and not worthy. This hotel is near the Vesuvio and Erculano and Pompeii. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Hotel restaurant has delicious food. Pool area is very good and you can have your meals there with your children. There is another pizza restaurant behind the hotel which is also good. Hotel is clean with good size bedroom for a family of two adults and two little kids.

Very nice hotel with great facilities, underground parking. Staff friendly and helpful. The only drawback is you need you're own transport as it's on the outskirts of Naples.

This hotel is in the "middle of nowhere" to coin a phrase. Mainly residential, just 2 medioca Pizza Resturants, small store and pharmacy, nothing to see or do locally. Hotel do privide Free shuttle bus to and from Volla station, 8 minutes ride. We would be lost without this. About Euro 5 return into Garibali Napoli station 4 stops. NOTE: Last train back around 20:11. If you miss this Euro 30 to the hotel. Taxi charge you for there and back! If you have a car or on the coach party then not such an issue.

Nice hotel on outskirts of Naples
The hotel itself is a lovely hotel with great rooms and great staff. They are friendly and helpful. The food in their restaurant is reasonably priced and tastes good, same can be said for their breakfast which offers a wide variety of cakes and pastries as well as toast and other savoury items. Their swimming pool is maybe on the small size, but it is nicely maintained and whilst we were there in August it was never overcrowded. The downside is that the hotel is a good 15-20 minutes from the airport so a car is a must unless you opt for a shuttle at an additional cost, but if you are planning on seeing other areas or sightseeing then you definitely need a car to get around. The surrounding area of the hotel isn't the best, but there is a local supermarket within walking distance where you can buy food and drinks and basic items, they are also friendly. Overall I would recommend to friends if they are looking to stay outside of Naples and are happy to hire a car to get around.

Booked as hotel near airport (per Expedia) but actually 15 minutes and 25 euro cab fare away. While clean, the rooms smelled very smoky. The staff is very accommodating, helping with transport to airport.

Not only was the room a furnace, this hotel is in an absolutely disgusting and horrible area of Naples. There were teenagers in the parking lot screaming until 230 AM. Just an overall awful experience.

Great hotel with wonderful staff
First of all, as many of the reviewers have commented, there is nothing much near this hotel, so if you do not have a car, this is probably not the hotel for you. However, we hired a car for a 4-5 day stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is in a quiet area and the rooms are spacious (we had a family suite with 4 of us and it was just fine). Unlike some of the reviewers, we found the staff to be helpful and very kind. We had a few questions about possible trips and also wanted to print off some documents and the staff were more than willing to help. The underground car park nearest to the hotel can get a little full, but there is a larger attached car park next door which is mostly empty. The airport is 10-15 mins drive away (but it helps to have a sat nav as the route is quite convoluted). Breakfast in the morning was fine and there was a good selection of breads, pastries, juices and some hot food. We used the hotel as a base to explore Naples, the Amalfi coast, Capri, Pompeii & Herculaneum, so we were out most of the day and didn't use many of the facilities of the hotel such as the pool etc., but the general feel of the hotel was quite modern and well equipped. No real negatives from our stay and would recommend to anyone who doesn't want to stay inside Naples itself and has access to transportation. Lastly, we had seen some recommendations for the Vesuvio restaurant nearby and so we visited it on our last evening and thoroughly enjoyed our meal!

Decent hotel not close to anything
I booked this hotel for its decent nightly rate, and because I thought it was close to the Naples airport. That was my search criteria in Expedia. The hotel lists a "shuttle" to the airport on the description, but really it's a taxi company they contract with that will take you for a flat rate of $25. And despite the description saying it's "near" the airport, it's still a 15 minute drive by taxi. If I had to do it all over again, I would find a hotel that was closer that offered an actual free lift to the airport. We read later in other reviews that those people who tried to go around the hotel taxi were then charged double the fee. As far as the hotel itself, it was clean and our room was large. They have lots of amenities (like a pool, tennis courts at the adjacent fitness club, covered patio, etc). It has the overall feel of a corporate hotel which is great if that's the experience you're looking for. Not so much us, but I was willing to go with this for the alleged closeness to the airport. It's in a small town outside of Naples proper with few restaurant options. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, the waitstaff not so much.

Very nice modern and butiful hotel in the middle of no where but it was close to the airport and we had an early flight so it was ok since we arrived in the evening. The hotel is very good and the restaurant was good too+ all the other facilities were enjoyable. Nice stuff.

Hotel and room smelled of smokers. Bathroom was clean. Room needed to be vacuumed. Furniture was well worn. Drapes needed to be cleaned. Dinner in the restaurant was typical and OK. Wait staff were pleasant. Breakfast was not very good. They tried to charge for the shuttle to the airport which is a 20 minute drive. The pool area looked very nice.

WiFi doesn't work in rooms, only in the lobby. Restaurant on site but food wasn't so good. Not many choices either. Pool was clean and practically empty. Supermarket and cafe near the property.

We knew the hotel was located some distance from central Naples so were prepared for having to use taxis as we were not hiring a car. Thanks to other travellers' advice we also knew we should call the hotel on arrival at the airport for them to send a taxi to collect us as this would be cheaper. This worked like a dream and we later found out it was complimentary! Hotel was very quiet during our stay but we made good use of the lovely pool and tennis courts (there is also a new gym and indoor pool next door due to open soon). Breakfast was included which was buffet style, plenty to choose from. We also ate in the restaurant which was very good and not too expensive. Staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a small parade of shops outside which has a mini supermarket. There is nowhere to really walk to near the hotel apart from a great restaurant Vesuvio and a bar, otherwise you have to get a taxi, the nearest train station is about 3km away. Hotel very accommodating with providing transfers into town, taxi costs around 30 euros to get back. Would definitely recommend this hotel particularly if you had your own car.

Great Hotel for all - nothing was too much trouble
We, a family of 3, arrived at Naples airport at 2100 in the evening and were picked up from the Airport by transport prior arranged with the Hotel. On arrival for our 1 night stay, check-in was swift and, after unpacking in our room, we went to the Restaurant at 2225 only to discover that It was due to close at 2230 and so we asked if it was possible to have a snack, We were shown a table, given a Menu and an invitation to order a meal which was freshly prepared, superb and excellent value. The staff waited until we had finished before preparing the tables for breakfast - nothing was too much trouble. After a comfortable night, we departed after a complimentary breakfast the following morning to collect our rental car and start our holiday. Do not be deterred by the area on the journey to the Hotel - you will be pleasantly surprised on arrival.

Beautiful Hotel, wrong location if without a car.
Stayed for 3 days at San Mauro Aug 2012. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We were given a fantastic room which was more like a suite. Clean, spacious and comfortable. Swimming pool was fabulous and child friendly. Breakfast was cereal, pastries, croissants a typical Italian breakfast. Cannot fault the hotel just the location. Naples and outskirts are extremely dirty with rubbish left on streets. If you have a car this is an amazing hotel with pompei only 30mins away and almalfi coasts and hour away. Would not recommend if you have no independent means of transport as did not feel comfortable walking around.
