Historic Victorian cottage

The winter of 2022/23 has been rainy and snowy - great for green mountains and flowing rivers. Our flowers and trees will be much happier this year and I hope you come to see our sweet town and my house.

It was so nice to walk out the front door and have the darling town a block away. The home is so tastefully decorated and super clean and cozy. It was so nice to come back to after exploring the town. I highly recommend.

Weekend getaway to Nevada City
This cottage was extremely clean and tidy. The location was peaceful, yet close to shops and restaurants. Enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the fall sunshine with a book and a glass of wine. Host was thoughtful and hospitable.

Well Maintained and perfectly situated home
A 5 star home thoughtfully appointed in an unbeatable location close to the charming Downtown. The owner was great at communicating and meeting our needs. I do have to add if a good bed is important to you then be aware that the queen bed is past it’s prime.

Very well cared for and thoughtfully furnished home
We had a lovely visit, this home is just a couple blocks to the heart of downtown Nevada city. So many lovely details, my kids loved their room with tall twin beds, the bathroom is fantastic and the kitchen spacious.

Great location with a few caveats
We stayed here for the weekend of our friends wedding. It was a great location and very close to downtown. It was a little hard to find since the parking was around the back of the house on a different street. House is very clean and well kept but I felt as if we were staying in an antique shop rather than a home where we could relax. The house comes with a lot of rules that are not listed on the main VRBO page such as $5 per load of laundry, strict temperature settings, and no visitors are allowed inside the house. We were going to have our friends come over and put together flowers for the wedding but decided to do it elsewhere since the owner seemed uncomfortable with it. I would not recommend this house for families as there are a lot of "irreplaceable" items throughout the house and no comfortable seating area for more than a couple of people. I am not usually one to write bad reviews but I had a lot of anxiety during this stay and was constantly worrying about doing something that the owner wouldn't approve of. At the end of the day it was a nice house but it just was not the right atmosphere for our family and friends.

Beautiful place. Very clean.
The place was very clean and had everything we needed to make our meals. We were happy to see the bidet since we also have one at home. The location was excellent. We never needed to drive our car and was able to easily walk to town for everything we needed. There were many restaurants serving organic and farm to table food and we also found a cute natural food store close by.

Sister visited and since the three of us are fully vaccinated and needed a pandemic getaway we decided on this charming house that was within walking distance to running trails, food, drink and the Farmer's Market. Perfect
