"We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. The property is spotless, beautifully presented, and has a really up-market feel without being pretentious. We visited during the Tenby Ironman weekend, and the experience couldn’t have been better.
The host was outstanding, warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the local area and the Ironman event itself. He went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, sharing great tips and guidance that really enhanced our visit.
Breakfast is included, and while we couldn’t enjoy it in the usual setting due to our 5:30 a.m. start, the host thoughtfully prepared a to-go breakfast bag for us. It was packed with fresh fruit, drinks, and snacks to keep us going throughout the long day, such a kind and practical touch that really made a difference.
Overall, the combination of excellent hospitality, immaculate rooms, and thoughtful little extras made our stay truly memorable. Whether you’re in Tenby for an event like Ironman or just for a relaxing break, this hotel is an absolute gem, I couldn’t recommend it more highly!"
"We were expecting a rustic eco stay, this does not mean however, health and safety should be ignored. The floor in the bathroom is very spongy, one board in particular almost gave way. The floorboards in the main hut were very uneven causing injury to my feet. The steps outside were rotting away. There are no utensils in the hut so the few teabags and open bag of sugar (no coffee) could not be used. There are a couple of mugs though! Struggled to get the hot water to work in the shower. Info says you tube video should have been sent to us. It wasn’t. Definitely would not recommend this property at all. Very overpriced for the accommodation offered. "
"The beach was wonderful for our three grandchildren. Jack’s Restaurant was a little expensive but convenient. The beach house 218 was not up to our expected standard. The carpet was grubby and the upstairs flooring was spongy and uneven. The front door was difficult to lock sometimes. The exterior rear facia panels were filthy and moss growth showed it had not been cleaned for a long time compared to neighbouring beach houses. (Photographic evidence is available of the facia but cannot be attached due to limitations of the feedback system). The owner was indifferent when advised of the rear facia. He demonstrated very poor customer care relations with his dismissive response. The Freshwater East holiday village is generally good, just don’t stay in 218 beach house. "
"Unique and off the beaten track - an unusual but welcome stopover on a walking holiday. All new and charmingly decorated. Welcoming overseeing staff of this group of chalets during early parts of the day "
"Lovely clean comfortable accommodation near to the beach and other lovely coastal path walks. Third time staying at this company’s accommodation and great comms throughout."
"The pod is in an amazing location but unfortunately needs a lot of work to make it worth the money! The pod is located down a driveway with no direction whatsoever, luckily a gentleman was there to show us where to go. A lot of groundwork going on which made it very dirty with uneven ground. The steps up to the pod were rotten. The toilet/shower door wouldn’t close as the hinges were bent. There isn’t much privacy in the toilet a small curtain or blind wouldn’t go a miss. It needs a good clean and some fresh paint, a general overhaul would make all the difference! "
One of the foremost charms of the Pembrokeshire Coast, Manorbier Castle makes for a fantastic day out, especially for families and anyone with a passion for Welsh history. This well-preserved Norman Castle is to be found not far from the pretty seaside town of Tenby. With medieval frescoes visible in the old chapel and a fine gatehouse with intact defensive facilities, despite the inevitable decay caused by the passage of time, this remains a majestic and atmospheric structure.
Regarded as one of the most impressive castles in Wales, visitors to Carew Castle can trace the structure’s history from Norman fortifications to when it became an Elizabethan country home owned by Sir John Perrot, possibly an illegitimate son of Henry VIII, before its eventual abandonment in the 17th Century. Several notable features have resulted, including earthworks created by Royalist defenders during the Civil War and window frames dating to Tudor times that were made of imported Cotswold stone that stands out against the local limestone used for the rest of the building.
