I had booked my stay 2 months in advance. I called regarding getting a high floor, and was told that long stays (I was there for 6 nights) always get placed on a high floor. Since this was the reason I called, as well as what I wanted, I proceeded with my reservation after having been reassured. When I got there, I was placed on a low floor. I asked front desk to review my reservation as I had specifically requested a high floor, AND was reassured that my long stay qualified for such. They were just like oh well we don’t have it available. Here is your key. Now, I have specific reasons, and personal at that, to Not be comfortable close to the ground (previous home invasion that left me traumatized). Again why I had called 2 whole months prior to make sure I could be accommodated. But oh well, tough luck for me as they did not provide what was reserved and reassured. So low floor I slept for 6 nights. Very unhappy about this. If they weren’t able to assure this, they should of Never told me such when I called in advance, Also, house keeping definitely skipped my room. I even put my overfilled trash outside the door to give signs of the beef to clean, but when back they had just emptied the trash can and my room was untouched. They only cleaned it once in 6 days. The room (with balcony) was also Way smaller than the pictures online. Cute room, but really only the king bed in there and it was full. Walking distance to surrounding ring viewings however was great.

A perfect room with a balcony for taking in the city sounds and sights. Close proximity to bars and restaurants and the Tenement Museum. Loved it!

My friends and I appreciated that the staff at Allen Hotel took our concerns seriously after informing them of a smoking and noise complaint on the floor we were staying at. We also like how the property supplied water bottles so that was one less thing to worry about on our week long trip. The bathroom only had 1 small sink and not much wall space to hang our towels. The shower and towels were excellent, however some of us feel that the beds were not exactly full size and instead were leaning closer to twin size which made a 4 person stay slightly uncomfortable due to the crowded space. Other than that, the location was fine since we aimed to stay somewhere closer to Chinatown and it was only a 12-13 minute walk away.

The Allen is a great quirky hotel. It’s a bit dated looking with Asian/1980’s decor but that’s part of its charm honestly. Very friendly and helpful staff. It’s a clean, moderately priced hotel in a hip offbeat part of town. Great balconies and a neat rooftop with cool views. Good restaurants and shops in walking distance.

Beautiful property, very nicely done. Rooms are more spacious than other NYC hotels I have stayed in. Good amenities. Everyone at the front desk was very nice. Everything was clean. The hotel is close to 2 subway lines, bus stops and walking distance to shops, walgreens, starbucks, etc. Only reasons this wasn't a 5 star was that ladies sauna was down, I had asked for the room to be cleaned and it wasn't done before I came back. They did an attempt to rectify it later for us. Our room was on the first floor so the window was just a mirror because it otherwise would look into a hallway. I think any other room on any floor would have a decent view, but that was just what we experienced. Will definitely stay again but request an upper floor.

Pros: the staff was always very nice and accommodating The location is great for being in a more authentic New York area The price was much lower than other places of this quality Cons: we did find an old sock on one of the drawers The shower drain was clogged and just needed cleaning to function The beds are very, very firm. Conclusion: if you are someone who needs everything to be pristine and tidy with a cloud for a bed, this is not your place. But if you don’t mind a few less comforts, this place is excellent to save some money and be in a great part of the city.

The staff was super nice, the place was clean and attractively decorated, it was quiet, the other guests were pleasant, the location was great, and it smelled really nice in the room! Also, the view from the roof deck was amazing!

rooms were super small, and the dust and dirt in the rooms were a bit unusual. the photos are slightly deceiving but the front desk staff was always super lovely and nice. the cleaning staff was particularly rude in terms of interactions I had. showers were beautiful and bed sheets smelled like body odor.

Allan Hotel, lower east side NY
Pleasant in a great location, with lots of great bars and restaurants in the area. Both reception and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. The only negative was the lack of a breakfast option in the hotel. Luckily there is a place called Dudley's around the corner. Would certainly use this hotel again.

Very nice
If you need a place in LES you can’t beat this hotel. Big rooms (for NYC standards) hardwood floors, fluffy towels, huge windows and mirrors. Very nice stay. And we even found free street parking.

Dear David Brown, GM, The Allen Hotel - One of the highlights of our trip to NYC for the Christmas weekend was our stay at The Allen. We snagged 701 for four nights and then opted to extend one more night in one of your lower-floor rooms. Both rooms were great, but of course the penthouse terrace is a remarkable bonus. Your lovely Front Desk team was helpful at every turn. We called before arrival and got great info, and when in town every member (including all the "Jennifers") was consistently pleasant and adherent to any requests we had. We've already started plans to return in August; we definitely will spring for 701 and those amazing views for this coming summer. Until then we will be recommending The Allen Hotel to anyone we know traveling to New York. Thanks for doing things the right way, and then some, Dann
