A great cottage in the center of the village, walking distance to a couple of great restaurants. The cottage had a lot of thoughtful accessories, from cooler to blankets and wood for the fire. The church chimes were hardly noticeably and didn't disturb our sleep. The beds were very cosy and there were plenty of towels provided.
I was especially looking forward to the Jacuzzi bath, featured in the photos, as I'd ran a local half marathon the morning we checked in and was disappointed it wasn't working. Still, lovely deep bath for a soak, although the dial to raise the plug had come away from the bath and so the plug had to be prised with finger nails to empty water. This and a few other minor issues: the door knob fell off the kitchen door, a latch fell off the living room door, the knob was not attached to the heated towel rail, the soap dispenser in the bathroom was broken, and the remote thermostat was no where to be found so we couldn't adjust the heat and it was a bit chilly in the morning made the cottage feel a little uncared for. On the upside, there was a lovely fire in one of the living rooms, which was lovely on a night time (although the door that leads directly outside from the living room could befit from a drought excluder). There was tea, coffee and sugar provided, but the coffee was instant and a mix of a various left overs and there was no ground coffee for the coffee maker, which was a shame.
Finally, there was a the lack of communication by the owner and property manager. I messaged the owner, with no response. I also contacted the office to ask where the remote thermostat was located (it wasn't in the living room as it stated in the manual) and the office told me Kelly would call me back, but I didn't get a return call.
Overall a lovely cottage in a lovely area and at a reasonable rate, but I am not sure we'd return.
