However I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel. Lots of finger-marks on all the doors throughout the hotel, stains on the carpet around the bed, dusty on the window ledge. Paint work was chipped and sofa fabric was ripped and had stains."Reviewed November 5, 2026Return • Dublin (DUB) - Liverpool (LPL)DUB - LPL • Direct LPL - DUB • Direct€247€177found 1 day agoper traveller - The Royal Crest Hotel & Bar by OYO

"A Lovely cottage with plenty of space. Very nice and clean, highly recommended. A little tricky to find in the dark so could possibly do with larger signage. "
"A very pleasant quiet hotel with comfortable room and a very good breakfast and service."
"The guy at the desk was really rude - he seemed annoyed when I asked about things for our kids eg cots. They bought hot water for baby’s bottle in a champagne bucket - we weren’t confident that was sanitary so didn’t use that water. The room was cold & dusty. We couldn’t wait to leave and will never be coming back."
Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf and Spa
Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf and Spa"Unfortunately I was there where a group of children were there for a horse show , no adult supervision, running up and down the corridor’s , banging on doors and shouting . Management tried to stop them, but they carried on until 11.30 pm . I will definitely go again as a super hotel and spa 😊"
"I absolutely LOVE this place. Property is gorgeous, rooms comfortable and clean. Easy walks around and the staff were very helpful. I will be back without question as this is a great peaceful place I wish to return to and soon. Breakfast spread was good as well! We were in a bind for the last night of our stay; the staff went above and beyond to help us, very lovely people, and we wish them all the best."
