Loved our stay we met up with our family and had a very comfortable stay. Staff were really friendly and accommodating and finished our stay with a lovely morning in the pool area. Thanks will stay again!!

Revamped room which was good but furniture in room old and stained, the hall leading to the room was bare plaster, we didn’t realise we had stairs to climb to the room, the manager in the breakfast room was miserable, so not really what we expected for the price

The worst hotel we've been to

Over charged for the wedding event, was refused any refund. The fire alarm had dgone off 3 times in the same night scaring the childre, at 3.30am having to find a member of staff to explain what was going on because no reassurance from staff. Rooms not ready on arrival and the food for the wedding was disgraceful. Most was inedible so called a takeaway in. The kids food came cold, bones left in chicken. The hotel was noisy, overly hot, no air con, the fan was useless, the shower was cold.

Countryside views

Staff are excellent, the grounds are beautiful. The hotel is being decorated and is a 1990 building. Breakfast was good and the evening menu had a good choice at reasonable prices.

I would recommend this place to anyone,who wanted a place to stay for a weekend or week and who wanted to play golf. The place had everything i wanted for a weekend break. The breakfast and evening meal was excellent. I would differently go back again.

Amazing size room, lovely big bed. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided. Bathroom a bit dated, but perfectly adequate. I was on the ground floor and the noise from the room above was loud (thin ceilings?) when they were getting ready to go out in the evening, and again in the morning. Lovely leisure facilities.

Outside areas and golf course attractive, friendly gardener clearly taking pride in his work. Reasonable rates for driving range. Inside is like stepping back in time, however it’s clear to see current renovation efforts. Bar the friendly gardener, staff lacked customer service. One hopes to be greeted with a smile and warm welcome, whether it’s the first or last check-in, which albeit I had already done online, just a key needed and just a key was given. Upon check-in our room door was still open with dirty bedsheets on the floor ready for laundry. Bins had not been emptied, previous occupants towels in the bathroom. Toilet has not been cleaned and a used wet flannel still hung in the shower. This was rectified promptly after a quick visit to ‘welcoming’ reception. Shower gel marks on shower still remained. We felt fortunate to be allocated a room with a newly refurbished bathroom, the shower was hot and powerful and plenty of towels provided for a family of three, however no bathroom rail to hang them or toilet roll holder or additional rolls. Bed linen all appeared clean bar the decorative throw which had stains on. T.v remote was covered in sticky substance 😣 Room temp at night was hotter than a thousand suns, two fans were provided. £150 without breakfast felt hefty but all in all the swimming pool and outdoor facilities and a nice sandwich at the bar made it enjoyable.

Service was good but didn’t eat in the hotel. Room was clean & comfortable but a little tired. Bedside tables and desk were marked by hot drink rings. Shower was large and good power. As others have mentioned could do with a ‘spinner’ to dry costumes and changing rooms again were tired. For a one night stay and good value.

OKish, but not great

Noisy neighbour did not allow me to sleep. Was quite hot- no air conditioning. Dinner was good and enjoyed it, but continental breakfast has rather limited choice.

Was so looking forward to our stay unfortunately we were very disappointed. Walking to the room obviously been a flood the corridor smelt like curdled milk. On entering our room it smelt sour and old. The room itself was large bathroom very dated shower door needed a really good clean to get the black mould off it. The breakfast was lovely in a nice big restaurant. Seemed all the money goes into the golf club house and not the accommodation. Such a shame

Great surroundings but poor Hotel

Last time I stayed here was 2 years ago and then I said I would never return, unfortunately the usual hotel I stay in was fully booked. The Hotel review I left 2 years ago hasn’t changed, large free car park, great restaurants with Sky TV but the Hotel is rubbish. Requested a high floor which I didn’t get, seriously outdated poor quality rooms with the smallest of TVs, Iron marks on the carpet and you can hear every noise from the surrounding rooms. If you are here on business and require Wi-Fi this place is not for you as it’s absolutely dreadful as with the phone reception. Over £200 for 2 nights is a disgrace, no more visits.

Great if you still live in 1995

Reception friendly, pointed to room, got to room, immediately disappointed, old fashioned and basic, I could hear the entire conversation on the next rooms mobile (speaker) and his end too. the bulb in the room is military grade and makes the room about appealing as a cold sore. The brochure suggests a "cooked to order" breakfast this may be true if I ordered it the night before, cheap ingredients served not as I asked. day 2 did not even attempt to eat it. you know you have made an error when the reception team do not even bother to ask how your stay was. If I was a golfer paying £49 B&B then this would hit the mark. I am sure you all work hard, but come on, get the owners to spend a night in the room and work out some little great value tweaks that would make it look like you care. PS the shower was awesome and was the only highlight of the trip. also mentioning a price to send a Fax in the brochure makes us think that your are way behind the times. maybe some new cutlery too.

All good, thanks for everything: polite staff,good service, clean room with a lovely view on golf course, refurbished bathroom (no hooks for towels), nice leisure centre (included in staying price) with steam room (good), sauna (wasn't warm enough for me), swimming pool (hot, can feel chlorine in air, needs cleaning, could sees flakes in water when swimming under water), nice jucuzzi. I feel relaxed after steam room, swimming and jucuzzi. Towels were provided. Actually only one thing I would charge in hotel and that's a very hard bed, will not recommend for long stay. We stayed for 3 nights. Breakfast is quite expensive so we didn't go for it. Hotel restaurant offers traditional menu for lunch and dinner but we were away in nearby Red Lion pub Green 👑 ng's). We would stay in this hotel next time again 😊just for less nights. They have a beautiful golf course.

Easy check-in, large comfortable bed, good walk-in shower. Surprised that there were no designated blue badge parking spaces. Both bedroom and bathroom could do with shelves or hooks for coats, towels, etc. Our upstairs neighbours made a lot of noise moving around, even during the night
