The facilities were as you would expect at a hotel. Given my stay during lockdown, the breakfast offering is poor, many other hotels do much better breakfast. I used the McDonald’s just off the car park. I booked a club room with sky tv and in arriving in my room the tv didn’t work. I reported this and it was not resolved at all during my stay and I was not offered a different room or and refund. There were other workmen in the hotel and they were very noisy banging on each other’s doors. They were breaking lockdown rules and going into each others rooms watching football and getting drunk and noisy.

Self check in worked well. The room was ok but the single radiator took a long time to warm the room.

Get ready to pay more for less. Last Village stay
This is the last time I use a Village hotel now, not a good experience and only saved by the pool and the staff within the leisure facility. Bad points are many; tiny electric heater for family room, no towel rail in bathroom so can't dry swimwear, shower is from the tap and temperature adjusts itself, food overpriced, little add-ons make your stay more expensive and best off staying elsewhere. Now £5 for early check-in, even if 10minutes before 3pm, we had swimming booked for 3pm and was not told we would have to pay extra to check-in a few minutes early until we arrived - it used to be a nice gesture if your room was ready, now a money making inconvenience. I was told parking is now £5 a day, another rip-off, outskirts of Nottingham after all. Then when I used the self check-in it told me £5 for entire stay (2nights), upon check-out they had charged me £5 per night without informing me. You also have to pay for using leisure facility in some cases. In short, don't be tempted by the slightly cheaper prices as the hotel claw back the money you saved in other ways or provide a very sub standard service. Last time I try a Village Hotel now, they have certainly gone down hill over the years. Lesson is, pay slightly more for your room in another hotel, we went to a Hilton after this stay, paid £50 more over 2 nights but what a difference in quality, room, food, staff and overall you don't spend more, free parking, free gym/leisure/early check-in.

Room not clean and restaurant understaffed
Big fab of Village hotels but this one was a little disappointing. The room was not clean which was strange as it had the sticker on the door to say it had been. Restaurant was understaffed both at dinner and breakfast. Gym and pool are good. Wont be rushing back...
