Overall. I’d say it was worth it.

"Overall. I’d say the visit was great. Needed something close to stay and pricing was a factor for my budget. Rooms and shower look exactly as the photos shown, as well as the main lobby. I wasn’t aware of the required deposit on arrival, and nowhere was it specified to pay for a deposit, other than the usual hotel needing a Credit card on file for purchases, room service etc etc; but never a deposit. So be prepared for that. Lady was nice who checked me in, and for a Sunday, bar is closed and surrounding stores, food, entertainment is closed as well with little to no options to eat close by. Elevator does need upgrading as the button panel is about to fall off and pressing level 2,3,4 does not work so you have to take the stairs.1 of 2 elevators was out of service for maintenced while other had a broken almost about to fall off “button panel” that’s on its last leg. BUT, room was perfect, AC was cold and I couldn’t figure out how to turn off or set to auto the AC but u gotta check the different options and turn up the AC and set to auto or off. I was freezing in middle of night until I figured it out. (I did get my deposit back after a few days which they stated 3-5 business days so I’m happy)"

"Excellent free breakfast buffet. Close proximity to international food court for other meals. Clean facility and friendly staff. Convenient location, but if you want to walk toward Oakland, be prepared to climb numerous stairs over the railroad tracks."

Airstream Tiny Home Walk to UC BEST Neighborhood

"The airstream is super cozy and clean, with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The host is very responsive and the neighborhood has lots of cute shops, good food, and great coffee. Would recommend!"

Host not familiar with VRBO procedures

"I booked on May 8 and within an hour realized I need to modify the arrival date. The listing said free cancellation May 12. I immediately messaged the host, but didn't receive an inbox response until May 17 approving the date change. I then ask the host to change the online booking dates and charges to reflex the agreed upon shorter stay. She insisted that I had handle that with VRBO. When I reached out to VRBO, every request was automatically forwarded to the host, who remained adamant that I handle the online update. After days of calls and disconnections, I reached a VRBO representative who corrected the booking (once I got past their recommending that I reach out to the host). When I arrived at the listing, it wasn't clean. The sheets were stained and rumpled (like they had been used). The bathroom toilet and sink were soiled. I messaged that host who responded "Maaam. I don’t do knit picking. The house was cleaned. You are more than welcomed to get a hotel if it’s not up to your standards." I have been happy VRBO customer for over 30 years. This experience brought home that VRBO does not have assessable customer support if a host does not know how to use the service. This was also my first experience with a poorly cleaned unit."

"Always a sure bet, family owned, honest good people, NO BUGS, NO VAGRANTS, WELL VENTILATED ROOMS, SAFE OFF STREET PARKING, THEY DO OFFER SMOKING ROOMS,ROOMS ARE ALWAYS CLEAN. NO SMOKE ODORS EITHER!! CLEAN SHEETS, BEDS, SOFT PILLOWS!! BIG ROOMS, HUGE CLOSET SPACES, SHOWERS IN GOOD SHAPE, BATHROOMS AS WELL. THEY EVEN SELL SOME INSTANT NOODLE SOUPS, CANNED RAVIOLIS, COFFEE, AND SOME OTHER LATE NIGHT SNACKS IF YOU GET IN LATE, AND ATE HUNGRY, DOMINOS DELIVERS HERE, ALSO AMIGOS PIZZA IS AWESOME, THEY ARE IN SLICE .COM (LIKE DOOR DASH)"
