"The bedroom was nice, the owner and his dog were friendly, and the view was beautiful. But the Vrbo description did not clearly explain several deficiencies. First, the bathroom was not attached to the unit and was across a muddy field. Second, the shower was cold water only, which was very unpleasant on a 69 degree windy evening. Third, there was no A/C or heat in the unit. I don’t blame the owner for these deficiencies, I blame Vrbo for not having a clear description "

The Marlin house

10/10 Excellent

"This house was in a fun, more remote, south side of the island. We stayed there two nights to visit South Point, the green beach, as well as Volcano National Park, (which was about an hour for this home). The place was clean and updated. There was no air-conditioner, but it got cool enough at night that this wasn’t a problem. There were also no TV’s, which didn't bother us, as it sort of added to the remote, island neighborhood feel. It was fun to hear the birds and frogs come out at night, as well."

"Great house and deck. Description of the drive n and out was very accurate. Dining outside on the large table was great for our group. It was easier to get to Volcanos National Park from here than it would have been from Kona."

"The Beach Boys Estate property was beautiful and perfect for our family of 10 celebration for an 80th birthday. The grandkids did not want to leave the property. Neither did the adults. We have had a number of family vacations in other locations. This was the best. Guy was our perfect host. Thank you for a trip none of us will forget. Aloha."
