"We had a wonderful time here. The house served as a great base camp for day trips to the Kaiula-Kona area, Punalu'u Black Sand Beach,Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and other local sites.The sweeping Pacific view from the Lanai is stunning, with gorgeous sunsets.The house had everything we needed and was very clean and cozy. Michele was a great host and even gave us a loaf of delicious ube sweetbread. The garden and the nighttime chirping of coqui frogs were very relaxing.If you are planning a trip to the west side of the Big Island and want a peaceful place to unwind after your adventures, this is the place to go. (And make sure to stop at the Panalu'u bake shop for a malassada or two ...or three)."

"Nice budget friendly part of the world in South part of the big Island. Very neat and tidy accommodation. Good bed. Quiet place. Access to punaluhulu black sand beach for an easy walk to see the turtles. Staff friendly. It is dated but def neat and tidy and we could have stayed an extra couple of nights. Worth the stop. "

"We enjoyed an idyllic adventure at the Beautiful Edge of the World bed and breakfast. Kurt and Caena were the ideal hosts. They provided us with a welcoming atmosphere into their home. The breakfasts provided were healthy and delicious. The setting on a coffee plantation enabled us to enjoy nature while relishing their warm hospitality. The only challenge is that to reach the inn requires driving on unpacked roads. It was raining when we first arrived and our GPS stopped working. We called and Caena drove out to meet us and lead us to her home. The next day she led us out to the highway to ensure that we were familiar with the route. After overcoming this minor problem, we had a marvelous time at the Beautiful Edge of the World, which truly lived up to its name."

"I did not realise that we were staying in a plantation village, with multiple accommodation. I had made a request for two beds and, as it was a slow time of year, we got two bedrooms. Pahala is a very cute town (and currently the only one with a grocery store as the one in Naalehu was no longer as at 28 Jan 25). The people were also really friendly. The only thing to consider is the roosters. If you want to sleep in - close the windows. We didn't, as the black sand beach was all ours at sunrise, then came back to Pahala for coffee at the Ka'u Coffee Mill. "
