Parkview Hotel

8/10 Good

"Smokey room, comfy bed and helpful staff I stayed in room 210 for 3 nights and unfortunately had people smoking in adjacent balconies every morning, evening and night. The rooms are non smoking but it isn’t enforced, and waking up to second hand cigarette smoke isn’t great. Otherwise a nice hotel in a good location, friendly staff and the restaurant food was tasty"

"This property was by far our favorite. It was lovely and had so much charm, we felt right at home. The guest rooms were a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The location was secluded and relaxing but yet not far from the things we wanted to do. The public areas in the house and yard made it the perfect place to spend time. Our only regret was we could not have stayed longer. We highly recommend this property!"

"The hotel was clean and we arrived at lunchtime thinking our room would not be ready until it 4 and it was ready. Only criticism is my daughter was looking forward to the train and it wasn’t running. Dinner was also a disaster. We booked for 6:45 and asked could we have the kids food as soon as it was ready so it could cool down. (3 year old and a one year old) 45 minutes later mine and my husbands mains came but the kids food didn’t come for another 15 minutes. So difficult to keep kids distracted for that long and as a family hotel this should have been better. (Kids biggest and chips and bowl of mash with gravy doesn’t take an hour) Would recommend the hotel but definitely not the dinner situation."

"The pub is charming but very, very loud and our room opened out to the courtyard. The room was very hot because it faced the sun and the day was bright, so we needed to open the window and then had a lot of pub noise. The en suite bath was tiny but operational. On the plus side, the staff were super friendly and helpful and despite a busy evening, they managed to seat us so we could eat. The food as good too both for dinner and breakfast."

"This lovely hotel, with older charm and character, is perfectly located to walking and hiking trails, and a 2 minute stroll to the monastic ruins. Our room was comfortable, spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. The tub/shower was a bit of a high step, but grab bar was perfect help. Breakfast in the morning was buffet-style with good variety. I wish we had time to stay longer than just overnight."

"We only stayed one night, but were extremely pleased with our stay. Parking was roomy and easy (not always the case in Ireland) and the room was very nice. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly--even loaning us an adapter to charge our phones. The breakfast was excellent--they even went out of their way to cook french toast without dairy to accommodate our granddaughter's dietary restrictions. Great location in town if you want to walk to a store to pick up something, and the dinner we had at the restaurant was very good."
