"First time staying here I always stay at the portofino resort decided to stay here because of the proximity to volcano bay I didn’t want to deal with shuttles or far away parking. I was extremely impressed with their staff they were all AMAZING especially the young lady at the front desk who check me in Kayla, she was a true professional knew her stuff and completely helpful from the start this hotel is very lucky to have someone like this working for them , she really elevated the experience"

"I enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. It’s close proximity to the theme parks and the shuttles help. The only con is that you can hear persons footsteps (running, jumping, playing) through the walls. It interrupts sleep if you’re a light sleeper."

A Budget Guide to Orlando

The cost of an Orlando holiday could quickly mount up when you add the cost of park passes, travel, dining and accommodation. You can holiday in Orlando on the cheap if you spend some time searching better deals. There are many ways to make your pennies go further in Orlando and enjoy a budget-friendly Orlando break.

Cheap Accommodation in Orlando

Some of Orlando’s top attractions are the theme parks, of which there are 13 in total to choose from. If you are planning to spend a lot of time in the theme parks, see if you can find a cheap hotel offering ticket packages and priority park access. Typically, though these hotels here are more expensive. The good news is that cheap Orland hotel deals be found just a few miles away from the main attractions. Orlando has several family-friendly lodgings, many of which have self-catering facilities, so you can prepare your own meals for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Things to See & Do on a Shoestring in Orlando

If you are having a family holiday in Orlando, there will be a very slim chance that you will get away without a visit to one of the area’s theme parks. If a visit is demanded by the kiddies, be smart with your purchase and consider a multi-park hopper pass where you get entry to numerous parks for a reduced fee, cheaper than purchasing all passes individually.

Pack a picnic and plenty of water for a day trip to Orlando’s theme parks as the restaurants within many parks cost more than food options outside. Many parks have grassy areas where you can lay a blanket and relax. Be aware that some parks do not permit food from outside to be taken in, so check this out beforehand.

If you have had your fill of theme parks, or if you simply want to explore more of natural Orlando, head to the Caladesi Island State Park where the beach here is ranked as one of the top beaches in the whole country. No vehicles are allowed on the island, so you will have to catch a boat or ferry. Spend a full day here exploring the sandy trails, natural wildlife and even have a go at kayaking.

Making your way around Orlando can be as easy or difficult as you want it to be. If you are travelling with a group, hiring a car and splitting the cost might be the cheapest option. This also gives you the opportunity to venture further afield to surrounding areas to see everything that Orlando has to offer.

If retail therapy is your thing, make your way to factory outlet parks where you can find many top stores offering bargain discounts. Normally here you find clothing that is last season’s stock but remember these items will be useful in a few months’ time.

Cheap Places to Eat & Drink in Orlando

In busy tourist areas you will typically find more expensive food options, and this can amount to a lot if you are feeding the family. Ahead of big days out, you can pack a picnic to enjoy some family time in the middle of the day and take a welcome break from sightseeing. You might be interested in the Kids Eat Free card which allows youngsters to eat for free at hundreds of restaurants across the area. For tasty American dinners find places with good set menu deals with some offering two or three-course meals at very reasonable prices.
