About this property
Oxford. C16th Cottage In Courtyard Setting. Garden. Parking. Free Wifi.
Set in the courtyard of our own home, but completely separate and private, Gadbury Cottage is cosy and very comfortable whether your choice is for a winter or summer break. It offers an ideal location to discover Oxford and the nearby attractions of Oxford City, Blenheim Palace, Shotover Park, Waterperry Gardens, Otmoor nature reserve, the Chilterns and Cotswolds Hills. Wheatley has all the facilities to meet your immediate needs - 2 foodstores, baker, coffee shop, post office, bank and choice of restaurants and pubs. The village has a long history through it's location on the main coaching route from London to Oxford - it was once descibed as the most agreeable stopping place between Beaconsfield and Woodstock. Today it's transport links are still excellent being just 2 miles from the Thornhills Park and Ride and a similar distance from the M40. There are regular bus services to Oxford and to Haddenham/Thame train station. Central London is c53 miles and Heathrow c45 miles, both have good public transport links.

Our stay at the Gadbury Cottage was unforgettable! Lovely, historic cottage, fully equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed the garden in the evenings after long days of sightseeing. We are already planning our next visit.
We went to Oxford to have a calm city break and we definitely got that! The property was beautiful and in a very calm area with lovely pubs and walks :)
Lovely cottage and in a great location for visiting the surrounding area, with great bus service to get into Oxford. Will definitely return to this great accommodation.
Quirky cottage in a great location, just ideal for our break to explore Oxford and the surrounding area. Was nice to have the owners on hand for any help and advice.
We were here for a Craft Fair at Waterperry Gardens so the location was perfect for us.
The cottage was very cosy and comfortable and the hosts helpful and friendly.
We would definitely stay here again if we do the Fair next year!
Nicely situated in quaint village with plenty of amenities. Cosy accommodation with everything we needed. Charming hosts and very well served with buses to & from Oxford
Lovely little cottage , we found it easily. Clean and tidy , had all we needed with the exception of a tea towel but I’m sure if we’d asked that would have been fourth coming. Plenty of logs etc for the fire, which we made the most of just because we don’t have one in our flat. Heating is perfectly adequate. Comfortable bed, plenty of storage if staying longer. Bus stop 2 minutes away to get into Oxford which we used everyday. Lovely bakery, coffee shop and co-op in village. Over all a peaceful and enjoyable weekend.
Cottage very warm and comfortable. Perfect position for getting to Oxford and surrounding countryside. Lovely and quiet. Had everything I needed for a most enjoyable stay.
We have stayed at Gadbury Cottage a number of times over the past couple of years, it has become our home away from home. There is always a friendly welcome and the cottage is the perfect place to relax.
The stone cottage was perfect for 3 of us. We spent most of our days in Oxford, and this was lovely to come home to. Neat cafe up the road to grab breakfast and coffee from. Shops/restaurants/pubs are also nearby.
Gadbury Cottage has become the place we call home when visiting the UK. The cottage gives us a chance to relax in a very busy schedule and we always receive a lovely welcome too.
A lovely cottage in a nice village location with an easy bus link into Oxford. The cottage was comfortable and homely. A perfect place for a peaceful getaway.
This was the perfect little cottage for us. It had what we needed and we were very comfortable. It’s was very walkable and had a bus nearby. People were very friendly. If we were to return to the area, we would look to stay here.
